HUAWEI P40 Lite with 6.4-inch FHD+ display, Kirin 810, 48MP quad rear cameras announced

HUAWEI has announced P40 Lite, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in Spain, which is actually the rebranded version of the nova 6 SE that was introduced in China back in December last year. It has a 6.4-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 16-megapixel in-screen camera, is powered by Kirin 810 7nm SoC with 8GB RAM, runs Android 10 with EMUI 10 and HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS) instead of Google Play Services, has a 48-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixel camera for macro and another 2-megapixel camera for depth sensing in portrait shots. Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 5G Reference Design for extended reality headsets announced

Back in December 2019, Qualcomm announced its 5G-supported extended reality (XR) platform called the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 Platform. Now, Qualcomm has revealed a reference design for the XR2 platform to help customers bring the extended reality platform to the consumers and enterprise.

LG V60 ThinQ 5G with 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 865, 5000mAh battery, new LG Dual Screen announced

LG has introduced the V60 ThinQ 5G, successor of last year’s V50 ThinQ 5G. It is powered by  Snapdragon 865 with Snapdragon X55 5G Modem, is powered by a bigger 6.8-inch FHD+ OLED screen, has dual rear cameras with 13MP 117° super wide-angle, 64MP standard and a  time of flight (ToF) sensor array. It has an 10-megapixel front camera. The phone runs Android 10, features brand-new, high-performance microphones, Voice Bokeh, a feature that separates users’ voices from background noise, allowing content creators to place more focus on the subject while reducing excess noise. Vivo Z6 5G with 6.57-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 765G, liquid cooling, 48MP quad rear cameras to be announced on February 29

Update: February 27th – vivo has confirmed quad rear cameras for the phone that includes 48MP main camera with f/1.79 aperture, 8MP 112° ultra-wide-angle lens, 2MP 4cm super macro lens and a 2MP portrait depth of field lens.

Qualcomm showcases Wi-Fi 6E operation with up to 1.8Gbps transfer speed using 6GHz spectrum

Qualcomm Technologies, a leader in mobile networking products has showcased an over-the-air demonstration for Wi-Fi 6E operation that uses the 6GHz spectrum. The demonstration was enabled by Qualcomm’s FastConnect mobile connectivity subsystem working along with Qualcomm’s Networking Pro Series Wi-Fi Access Point.

Samsung S20 series receive USB PD and USB PPS certification for fast charging support

Samsung’s newest flagship Galaxy S20 series will apparently be the first smartphone in the world to receive the USB certification for Programmable Power Supply (PPS) and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) 3.0 standards. This will ensure that the Galaxy 20 series will work properly with third party charger that are also certified with these standards.

Samsung, the developers of defence-grade Knox security solutions has announced yet another Secure Element turnkey solution with Common Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (CC EAL) 5+ certification. The security chip (S3K250AF) accompanied by its optimised software is capable of protecting private data on an isolated data storage.
