Samsung Galaxy Unpacked virtual event scheduled for August 5, Galaxy Note20 series expected


After rumours, Samsung has officially scheduled Samsung Galaxy Unpacked virtual event on August. Samsung says that it will unveil the “latest ecosystem of Galaxy devices designed to empower your life”. The invite shows a drop from S Pen that falls and splashes, and it is in the Mystic Bronze colour. Based on recent rumours the company is expected to introduce Galaxy Note20, Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 2 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.

Based on recent rumours, it the Galaxy Note20 Ultra will feature a 6.9-inch Quad HD+ (3040 × 1440 pixels) Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display with 120Hz refresh rate, powered by Snapdragon 865+ Mobile Platform with 5G support in some markets like the US, while the other markets should get Exynos SoC.

It is said to pack a 108MP + 12MP ultrawide + 13MP periscope cameras along with laser autofocus and LED flash. The other smaller camera could be 3D Time-of-Flight sensor.

The Galaxy Z Flip 5G got certified by TENAA in China recently, which will also be powered by Snapdragon 855+.

We can also expect the Galaxy Watch 3 at the event, which should bring back the rotating dial. It should retain the MIL-STD-810G certification, 5 ATM water resistance, and Gorilla Glass DX protection.

The Galaxy Fold 2 / Galaxy Z Fold 2 is said to feature a 120 Hz 7.7-inch display on the inside and a 6.23-inch display on the outside. It will use the same thin glass material that protected the display of the Galaxy Z Flip.

The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked virtual event on August 5 starts at 10 a.m. ET (7:30PM IST). As usual Samsung offer live streaming on its website and YouTube.
