Google Messages gets replies, YouTube PiP, emoji reactions

Google has announced a major update to its Messages app, as well as a new icon for it, as well as the Google Phone and Contacts apps. The new icons are intended to work with Android’s ‘Material You’ themes. The Messages app now includes the ability to watch YouTube videos within the app, as well as voice message transcription and other enhancements. Google Messages update brings instant reactions, media editor, easier voice messages and more

Google Messages has released a new update that brings 5 new features to it platform. These include sending quick reactions to messages, suggested stickers in Smart Reply, a basic media editor, dedicated buttons for voice messages and video calling.

RCS Messaging rolling out to all Android Messages users in the US

Google has been testing integrating Rich Communication Services (RCS) in Android Messages for a few users in the USA for quite a while. Now Google has decided to broadly roll out RCS for all Android users through the Android Messages app. Users in the US will be able to enable RCS Chat features over the coming weeks.
