Google removes over 70 malicious Chrome add-ons after global surveillance spyware campaign

Researchers from the Awake Security Threat team has discovered a global surveillance campaign that uses spyware software via extensions found on the Google Chrome Webstore. These malicious extensions have nearly 33 million downloads and almost all of them used domains that were linked to small registrar in Israel called Galcomm.

Samsung Galaxy Note10 Lite gets Rs. 4000 price cut in India, additional Rs. 5000 cashback for Citibank card users

Samsung launched the Galaxy Note10 Lite smartphone in India back in January starting  at Rs. 38999, later in April the phone got a price hike to Rs. Rs. 41,000 after 6% GST hike for mobile phones in the county, later to Rs. 41,999. Today the company has announced a permanent price cut for the phone in the country. The 6GB RAM version is now available for Rs. 37999  and the 8GB RAM variant is available at Rs. 39999 after a Rs. 4000 price cut. Realme Buds Q with low-latency gaming mode launching in India on June 25 for under Rs. 2000

Update: realme has confirmed that it will launch the Buds Q along with the realme X3 and the X3 SuperZoom in India on June 25th. It already said that it will be priced under Rs. 2000.

Intel has announced the launch of its 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable processors along with multiple hardware and software AI products. These include the Intel Optane persistent memory 200 series, Intel SSD D7-P5500 and P5600, Intel Stratix 10 NX FPGAs, and software solutions as part of its Select Solutions portfolio.

HUAWEI just announced Enjoy 20 Pro, the company’s latest 5G smartphone in the ‘Enjoy series’. It packs a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with 90Hz refresh rate, 180Hz touch sampling rate and 91.2% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by the latest MediaTek Dimensity 800 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM and runs Android 10 with EMIUI 10.1 on top. It has a 48-megapixel rear camera along with an 8-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a 2-megapixel 4cm macro lens. Inside the waterdrop notch on the front there is a 16-megapixel camera. ZTE’s nubia brand has announced RedMagic 5G Lite, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone for the European market starting from Spain in partnership with Vodafone. This packs a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, is powered by Snapdragon 765G with support for 5G SA/NSA dual-mode, ICE 2.5 Liquid Cooling Technology that can reduce the running temperature of the SoC by up to 16°C. ASUS ZF with Snapdragon 865, 16GB RAM surfaces in benchmarks, could be Zenfone 7

ASUS ROG Phone 3 with the model number ASUS_I003DD got certified by TENAA and also surfaced on AnTuTu earlier this week, now a new ASUS smartphone with the model number ZF has surfaced on Geekbench listing revealing some specifications of the phone. This is rumored to be the upcoming Zenfone 7 / 7Z, successor of last year’s Zenfone 6 / 6Z that features a flip camera. Samsung Galaxy Watch Active2 gets blood pressure monitoring in Health Monitor app starting from South Korea

Samsung has officially launched Samsung Health Monitor app for users of the  Galaxy Watch Active 2 in South Korea. The feature was first announced back in April, after Samsung received certification from South Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) to release an over-the-counter and cuffless blood pressure monitoring application.

Android 11 Conversations and Bubbles on Facebook and Twitter previewed

Google released its Android 11 Beta to the public on June 10th, and one among its major updates was a change where all conversations from messaging apps were grouped into a dedicated space in the Notifications screen. Google has now announced collaborations with Facebook and Twitter to help integrate Messenger and Twitter DMs respectively with Android 11’s Conversations API.

Worldwide smartwatch shipments records 12% YoY growth in Q1 2020: Report

While the worldwide smartphone market saw a decline of 11.7% YoY, the worldwide smartwatch market recorded a growth of 12% YoY, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Apple continued to lead the market with their Apple Watch Series devices, followed by Huawei, Samsung, Garmin and Fitbit.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Max gets another price hike in India, now starts at Rs. 16999

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand launched the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max smartphone in India back in March starting at Rs. 14,999, later in April the phone got up to Rs. 1500 price hike in the country due to increase in GST to 18% on mobile phones, and was sold at Rs. 16499. Today the phone has received a second price hike of Rs. 500 for the 6GB + 64GB and 6GB + 128GB versions and is being sold for Rs. 16,999 and Rs. 18,499, respectively.
