Google Keen is an app to store and explore long term interests

Thanks to the pandemic and quarantine measures taken up around the world, a lot of us have time to explore our passions and interests online. Keeping track of these explorations can sometimes be hard and that’s where Google new app Keen comes in.

Google Keen is a product of their Area 120 workshop for experimental projects. It helps users curate content on topics that they wish to spend more time on from the web and from people they trust. Examples of these topics include baking, bird-watching, typography, etc. Once a user curates these sources, they can share their collection with others and find new content based on what they saved.

Users can choose to keep their Keen collection either private or public, giving them control over what is shared and who can contribute. Another useful feature is Google’s application of machine learning in the app. When a user saves and curates their Keen, Google will use Search to find content related to that user’s interests. The more the user saves, the better the recommendations become.

Keen is available for download on the Play Store for Android and also has a web client that is available here.
