TCL has launched new C715 and C815 series of 4K QLED smart Android TVs, X915 its first 8K QLED Android smart TV and P715 4K UHD series in India. All the QLED models have support for voice control, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The C815 and X915 TVs come with MEMC and 50W Onkyo Soundbar with 4 units for bass + 4 passive radiator and the C715 series comes with 30w box speakers. TCL has partnered with Amazon Prime Video, Hungama, Eros Now, MXPlayer and others for 1 million hours of content. With more and more phones coming with foldable displays, both along the horizontal and vertical axis, TCL has supposedly gone another route and built a concept phone that incorporates a slide-out display instead. Back in 2016 BlackBerry signed a deal with China’s TCL Communication to give it exclusive rights to sell BlackBerry-branded phones in most countries after it ended all internal hardware development to focus on software development, including security and applications. Today the company has announced that starting August 31, 2020, TCL Communication will stop selling BlackBerry-branded mobile devices and has no further rights to design, manufacture or sell any new BlackBerry mobile devices. TCL Communication Technology (TCT) today shared its plans for an industry-first brand portfolio business model, which now enables the company to offer an entire suite of mobility products, including new BlackBerry smartphones. It also introduce a new BlackBerry smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard as rumored earlier, but it doesn’t have a name yet. TCL has introduced top-end TCL 950 smartphone and the budget TCL 580 smartphone in China. The 950 is the same BlackBerry DTEK60 that will be unveiled in the coming weeks, but this has a 1080 AMOLED display instead of Quad HD display. Other specs are similar, including Snapdragon 820 SoC, 21-megapixel camera with Sony IMX230 sensor, dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF for quick focus in 0.1 seconds and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
