Insight : A former Nokia Employee on the iPhone 4

Charles Anadu is not new to mobile phones. He has owned more mobile devices than he can count. He’s been part of the mobile revolution in USA  from the early days of GPRS to EDGE, to 3G and now to LTE. He has been a mobile device geek since the first time he owned his first mobile phone – A Nokia 3360. Charles picked up an Apple iPhone 4 as soon as it was launched few days ago. We asked him some questions about the iPhone 4 and Mobile Phones in general.  Charles worked for Nokia at one time and says he loves the company to death and talks about their identity crisis. Yahoo launches Android Apps for Mail, Messenger and Search Widget

Yahoo today launched it’s first ever Android Apps for Yahoo Mail and  Messenger . It has also launched a Search Widget for Android. It has also rolled out a HTML 5 websites for Mail and News for iPhone / iPod touch.

Motorola DROID Android 2.2 Build Leaks !

The official build of the Android 2.2 update for the Motorola DROID has been leaked and posted on MyDroidWorld. Please not that this update is for the Verizon branded Moto-droid for USA and NOT the GSM Motolra Milestone .  We wont recommend you to get this update unless you have a spare DROID and are desperate to get FroYo on board ! Microsoft Kills the KIN !

Microsoft announced the KIN phones KIN1 and KIN2 back only in April and now is killing the product to focus on Windows Phone 7. Microsoft will continue to sell the phones through Verizon in USA but we fear it might not be long until Verizon ran out of inventory. There were some reports that only 500 phones were sold since the launch and the sales were not as expected.

Nokia N9 MeeGo UI might look different

The Nokia N9 which is rumored to be the first MeeGo phone from Nokia was shown off in a video which seems to have been pulled out of Youtube last month.  The MeeGo project today released some screenshots of MeeGo for handsets and the UI looks a bit different than Maemo and much more different than Symbian. The UI draws inspiration from Android and WebOS. Now Eldar of Mobile-Review tweeted that the Nokia N9 will have a different UI and not the default MeeGo UI. Is Nokia N9 a N8 with a QWERTY keyboard ?

The guys from NegriElectronics have kept their promise to show a video of the leaked Nokia device . They are still strongly calling it the N9.  Till know we were pretty sure that the N9 might be a MeeGo phone. But this thing is running on Symbian 3.  We are hearing from sources that the Nokia N8 has some siblings one of which might have a QWERTY keyboard. Having looked at the  Keypad it reminds of the N97 mini but this one has 4 rows unlike the min with 3 rows. We are not convinced that this is the N9. This might be a N8-01 or N8-02 or simply N8 QWERTY. It can also be the E7 or in a rare case the  C7 !

Apple sells 1.7 million iPhone 4 devices in just 3 days

Apple just announced it has sold 1.7 million iPhone 4 devices in just 3 days. Thats 17 lac phones or  1700000 phones sold in just 72 hours making it most successful Apple product launch in the company’s history. Apple CEO Steve Jobs also said sorry to customers who could not get the iPhone 4 due to supply issues. But no word about the Antenna or death grip issue .Apple is gonna grab a lion’s share of the smartphone marketing share for this quarter with such impressive numbers.

Apple sells another 1 million iPads in just 20 days !

Apple just announced that they have sold the 3 millionth iPad.  The company sold 1 million units in under 28 days and the next million in 32 days and now the  next one million in just 20 days !  The iPad is not going to replace the personal computer but it’s certainly finding a lot of buyers !
