Samsung Galaxy Note II unveiled: Comes with Android Jellybean, 5.5″ HD Super AMOLED display

Samsung just announced the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the follow-up to its popular phablet. The Note II comes with an even larger 5.5 inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720. Battery capacity has been upped to 3,100 mAh and it is of the fast charging variety. Powered by a quad core Exynos processor clocked at 1.6Ghz, the Note II runs on Android 4.1 Jellybean.

Water resistant Sony Xperia V launched, Comes with onboard LTE

As part of its next generation Xperia lineup, Sony just announced the Sony Xperia V. The USP of the device is that it has the highest level of water resistance available in a smartphone. The phone is equipped with LTE. The phone runs on a dual core processor clocked at 1.5Ghz.

Sony Xperia T launched with 13MP camera, NFC and 4.55 inch HD display

The next high end Sony smartphone was just unveiled. Dubbed the Sony Xperia T, it brings a 4.55″ display with a resolution of 1280 x720. Sony calls this the “best HD experience on a phone to date”. The phone is running on Android 4.0 on a 1.5Ghz processor.

Sony announces Xperia Tablet S running Android 4.0

Sony just announced its new Xperia Tablet S at IFA in Berlin. Running on the Tegra 3 chip, the tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Storage can be configured right up to 64GB. The design is quite similar to the previous generation Tablet S but makes use of metal instead of plastic this time around. Weight has been dropped to 1.26 pounds.

Motorola shutting down India operations as part of restructuring plans

Motorola Mobility CEO, Dennis Woodside, recently confirmed that the company would be laying off 20% of the workforce while downscaling India operations. As part of these restructuring efforts, Motorola is now shutting down all operations in India. Further, operations across Asia Pacific are being massively undercut.

No more Bada phones, Samsung to increase focus on Android, Windows Phone 8

SamMobile reports that Samsung will not be launching any new Bada phones in the second half of 2012. The popular manufacturer intends to focus more on Windows Phone 8 alongside its staple Android devices. Bada Phones were last shown by the Korean manufacturer at IFA 2011 in Berlin.
