Telus launches the LG Shine+

Canadian carrier Telus is now offering a new Android device by LG, the LG Shine+. LG Shine+ is an Android powered device with some good features in it. The phone comes with Android 2.1, 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 800, a Slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video capabilities, Wi-Fi, GPS, holds up to 16GB with a microSD card.

You can get the phone for $69.99 CDR with a 3-year contract, or for $199.99 with a 2-year contract and for $249.99 with only 1-year contract. Or you can get the unlocked version for $299.99, and what I think is that it’s not a bad price for a phone with a bundle of good specs.

Samsung Galaxy Tablet to cost between $200 and $300 on contract, hitting Vodafone UK soon

Samsung recently added a new fellow in Samsung Galaxy line, the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Samsung Galaxy Tab is a 7 inch tablet, and it’s running on Android 2.2 and a lot of other features. The tablet is made to compete with the Apple iPad, which is currently known as the one of the best tablets in market, and expensive too. If we talk about the features of the Galaxy Tab, then it’s somehow better than the iPad, but only one thing can make a difference between them, and it’s the price tag.

Samsung didn’t gave any words on the pricing of the tablet yet, but Samsung is hinting that the Galaxy Tab will cost between $200 and $300 on contract (no words on which carrier is picking the Galaxy Tab in USA, but according to rumors, Verizon is most likely picking the Galaxy Tab).

But what do you people think about unlocked price? The Galaxy Tab appears on Amazon Germany site, with a huge price tag of £799, which is around $1000. I hope that it’d be around $700 to $800 in USA.

The first carrier to pick the Galaxy Tab is the Vodafone UK, but Vodafone is only telling us that the tablet is “Coming Soon”. Samsung has an aim to ship more than 10 million units of Samsung Galaxy Tab, which is a very huge aim.

So folks, that’s all what we know about the Galaxy Tab. We’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned !

Samsung Fascinate hitting Verizon this Thursday?

The Samsung Galaxy S series is the line of one of the best smartphones available in the market. Samsung Galaxy S is currently available on all major US carriers except Verizon, and now according to a new leaked screenshot, we’d be seeing the Verizon Galaxy S a.k.a Samsung Fascinate on Verizon shelves this Thursday, Sept. 9.

Samsung aired the Samsung Fascinate commercial a few days ago, and it was showing that the Fascinate is “Coming soon” to Verizon. PhoneDog is the one who spotted the release date in the commercial and they are saying that the “Coming Soon” is replaced by Sept. 9, but I checked the commercial on Youtube , and it’s still saying “Coming Soon”, which means that Samsung has removed the date from the video.

Well folks, we finally have a date now for the Fascinate. So Verizon folks, watch out for the Samsung Fascinate this Thursday in your local Verizon store.

Google replies to Oracle lawsuit, calls it “baseless” and “an attack”

Yesterday we saw Oracle suing Google over 7 different patent and copyright infringements, which is related to Android and Java. As we know that Oracle acquired Java maker Sun Microsystems last year, and now Java is their property. We were waiting for Google to come out and give a strong reply to Oracle, and they did. Have a look on what Google is saying:

“We are disappointed Oracle has chosen to attack both Google and the open-source Java community with this baseless lawsuit. The open-source Java community goes beyond any one corporation and works every day to make the web a better place. We will strongly defend open-source standards and will continue to work with the industry to develop the Android platform.”

Not only Google is disappointed, all the Android and Google lovers are disappointed. Google is trying their best to defend its mobile OS from the Oracle attack. May be Oracle will be replying to Google regarding the issue soon if they want to continue the legal war. May be Oracle is out of money, so that’s why they are suing Google for some money like they sued Microsoft in 2004, and got $1.6 Billion to resolve the issue. Lets see if Google can stop Oracle’s accusations by defending Android and proving the lawsuit wrong, or are they going to give out some good cash to Oracle to resolve the issue. So stay tuned folks.
