Reliance Communications launches its 3G service in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and Chandigarh

RCom aka Reliance Communication launched its 3G services in four of its major circles such as Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and Chandigarh. RCom is the first private operator to launch 3G in 3 metro cities. RCom says that their 3G network capable of achieving download speeds of upto 28Mbps. Lufthansa FlyNet to offer In-flight WiFi along with GSM/GPRS connectivity

Lufthansa will be the first airline to offer in-flight internet access on intercontinental routes.The service will be offered under the banner FlyNet in partnership with Panasonic Avionics. FlyNet will be initially available only on select North Atlantic routes but they plan to offer it on the airline’s entire intercontinental network by end of 2011. Verizon launching 4G LTE on December 5th in USA, upto 12Mbps Download speeds

Verizon has officially announced today that they will be launching the Long Term Evolution (LTE) in USA on December 5th, covering 38 cities and 60 airports. T-Mobile expands 4G services to 8 new metros in USA, plans to offer 42 Mbps speeds by 2011

 

T-Mobile is expanding it’s 4G mobile broadband network to 8 new metro areas which are Detroit, Mich.; Grand Junction, Colo.; Harlingen, Texas; Lafayette and South Bend, Ind.; Montgomery, Ala.; Roanoke-Lynchburg, Va. and Youngstown, Ohio.

Aircel to launch 3G Services in Jan 2011

Aircel which has won license in 13 circles for 3G has told reporters that it will launched 3G services only in 2011. While Tata Docomo was the first private operator to launch 3G services , Airtel will also launch the services before end  of 2010.

NTT DOCOMO to Launch Xi LTE Service in Japan with 75 Mbps download speeds

NTT DOCOMO,  has announced it’s plan to launch of Xi (read “Crossy”), Japan’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) service on December 24, 2010 with maximum download speeds of 75 Mbps which is 10 times faster than DOCOMO’s current FOMA 3G service.  The service will be initially offered via USB dongles to computers and support for voice calls will come in April 2011 to coincide with the company’s launch of LTE phones. Xi or 4G craziness will land first in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka

Vodafone To Offer Unlimited 3G Usage For Rs.899?

Vodafone is expected to launch its 3G services in India as early as next week and the 3G plans will not burn a hole in your pocket.

Today, Tata Docomo’s 3G services went live in selected cities of the nine circles, where it has won the 3G license. Sadly, Tata Docomo’s 3G services are still not available in our city and we may have to wait till the year-end to enjoy their 3G services. Aircel launched its 3G experience zone in Chennai for the consumers to get a first hand feel of  3G connections . The 3G demo was inaugurated by actor Surya who made the first video call via Aircel 3G network. You can experience Aircel 3G in four zones spread around Chennai.

Exclusive – Airtel 3G Services Website is Live !

We all know that operators in India are gearing up to launch 3G Services in India. The License Fee has been paid by the auction winners and government has allotted the 3G spectrum to the operators.Now Airtel’s website is displaying details about 3G services . No pricing or launch date info is available but it seems like material used to educate users about the benefits of 3G. Airtel has won the bid for 13 circles in India – Delhi , Mumbai , AP, Karnataka , Tamilnadu, UP West, Rajasthan, W.B, Himachal Pradesh,Bihar , Assam , North East and Jammu & Kashmir. There is also indication that Airtel might be offering HSPA speeds which translates to around 21 Mbps download speeds !
