Microsoft announced the Lumia 640 and the 640 XL last month at MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona, Spain. The two devices are very similar to one another and the primary difference is the size. The 640 XL does also pack a few extra features and a bit more battery power as compared to the 640. Regardless of their differences, both the devices are aimed to bring the Windows platform to the masses especially in India where phones between the price of 10-18,000 rupees have been gaining a lot of sales quite recently. We have both the devices in our office and will be bringing you the reviews shortly. For now, lets take a look at the Lumia 640 and see what our first impressions are.

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 Technical Preview Build 10051 for phones. The first build that was released back in February supported Lumia 630, Lumia 635, Lumia 636, Lumia 638, Lumia 730, and Lumia 830. The new build support even more phones. Lumia 930, Icon, and 640 XL is not supported in this release as it promised recently since there is an issue with scaling on these device making the UI too small to be usable, says Microsoft. Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 Edge smartphone in India last month starting at Rs. 58,900. It went on sale today, and we unboxed it too earlier today. Now let us check out the benchmarks of the smartphone. The Galaxy S6 Edge is powered by a Octa-Core 14 nm Exynos 7420 SoC which has four ARM Cortex A57 CPUs clocked at 2.1 GHz and four ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.5GHz. Motorola launched the Moto E (2nd Gen), the company’s latest budget smartphone in India last month. We already brought you the unboxing of the Moto E (2nd Gen), here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. The new Moto E is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 (8212) processor with 400 MHz Adreno 302 GPU. It has a 4.5-inch qHD screen and runs on Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop). But the CPU-Z shows it as Snapdragon 400 and the board as dual-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8610), which is an error. Let’s check out how the smartphone performs in a range of synthetic benchmark tests.
