Lava has released Android 5.0 (Lollipop) update for Iris X1 Grand smartphone. It was launched back in January this year and the company had promised to offer Lollipop update for the smartphone at the launch. HDFC Bank has launched Chillr, a mobile app that allows users to instantly transfer money to any contact in their phone book 24×7 since it is linked to customer’s bank account. The bank has partnered with MobME, a Kochi-based technology firm, to launch the app. It is available for Android and iOS platform currently, but it will soon be launched for Windows Phone, said the company. Samsung has introduced Galaxy Tab A in Russia, after a month it was leaked. The Galaxy Tab A series comes in 8-inch and 9.7-inch displays with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels. Both these are powered by 1.2GHz quad-core (Snapdragon 410 probably) processors, runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop), come with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Pinterest has raised $367 million in latest round of funding that will lead the company’s valuation to $11 billion. The funding was led by Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partnersseen, as per a regulatory filing.

Xolo has announced Q1001, the company’s latest smartphone in the Q CORE series that comes with a quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor. Apart from the processor most specifications of the smartphone are similar to the Xolo A1010 smartphone that was launched last month, including a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS display, Android 4.4 (Kitkat), 5-megapixels rear camera with LED flash, VGA font-facing camera, dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. Cyanogen Inc. has announced that the Cyanogen OS 12 will get a new boot animation. Last month it got new branding that replaced its mascot with just the Cyanogen name. Sony Xperia Z4 has been leaked in new renders by @Onleaks that shows the smartphone in several angles. According to him these images are unofficial 3D renderings of how the smartphone would look like based on unfinished versions of the smartphone, according to his source. The design of the smartphone doesn’t differ from the company’s Omnibalance design language in the Xperia Z3, but location of the ports are different. Earlier this year Honor, the global brand under Huawei today announced at the MWC that it will launch the Honor 6 Plus smartphone and new 4G devices in India late March. Today the company has revealed that it will launch the Honor 6 Plus smartphone in India on March 24th. The smartphone was announced back in December last year and has an unique dual 8-megapixel cameras on the back with dual LED flashes for effective pixel size to 1.98 microns resulting in sharper images. Sony just announced that it has started rolling out Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) update starting from the Xperia Z3 and Xperia Z3 Compact smartphones. It will roll out from Nordics and Baltics. It already promised that it will offer Lollipop update for the entire Xperia Z series devices.
