Xiaomi announced MIUI last month along with the Mi 5X smartphone. After closed beta for Mi 6 and Redmi Note 4X (Qualcomm) in China on July 27th, it released the public beta of China ROM for Mi 6, Mi 5X, and Redmi Note 4X (Qualcomm) on August 11th. As it had promised, in the second batch, it has released the ROM for 9 more smartphones last week.

After teasing the launch of new smartphone with dual rear cameras in India in September, Xiaomi today sent of invites for the launch of the smartphone in the country on September 5th at an event in New Delhi. The company says it will be Flagship Dual Camera smartphone, but it did not reveal the name of the phone yet. This will likely be the Mi 5X that was introduced in China last month.

[Update] – Uber has officially confirmed the appointment of Dara Khosrowshahi as the new CEO.
Uber finally has a new CEO. The US based ride hailing service has picked Dara Khosrowshahi, CEO of Expedia, as its CEO. Khosrowshahi’s appointment comes after former CEO and co-founder Travis Kalanick was asked to resign by five major investors in June. Last year’s LG V20 was the first phone to feature 32 bit Quad DAC for audio and the G6 has a similar DAC. Today LG has announced that the V30 will feature 32-bit Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC powered by ESS Technology’s SABRE ES9218P. The Hi-Fi Quad DAC now gets two new features: digital filters and sound presets. The original Hi-Fi Quad DAC emphasized delivering Hi-Fi sound as close as possible to the original source by minimizing distortion and white noise, Advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC offers more customizable options.
Vivo has launched Y69, the company’s latest mid-range selfie-focused smartphone with a 16-megapixel front-facing camera with soft flash in India. It packs a 5.5-inch HD 2.5d curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek MT6750 processor and a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, similar to the Y66 that was launched earlier this year, but this runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) and has a fingerprint sensor on the front. LG unveiled Q8, a smaller version of the V20 smartphone last month in Italy. Today the company launched the phone in Korea and revealed the price of the phone. It has a 5.2-inch Quad HD screen along with a 2.1 (160 x 1040 pixels) second screen. It has a 16MP rear camera with 78-degree lens along with a secondary 8MP secondary camera with 135-degree wide-angle lens.
Reliance Jio unveiled its JioPhone at the 40th AGM last month, and the company said that pre-booking for the phone will start on August 24th. As promised today the company has announced that the phone will be available for pre-booking through MyJio app and jio.com online as well as Jio retailers and multi-brand device retailers including the Reliance Digital stores network offline at 5:30PM tomorrow.

Russia’s Yota Devices has been announced YotaPhone 3 at an event at Russian Embassy in Beijing. It was first unveiled at the Russian-Chinese Expo back in June. Samsung GearFit2 Pro, successor of last year’s Gear Fit 2 yesterday appeared on Samsung Spain and Malaysia sites briefly before it was pulled. It has model number SM-R365 and comes with similar 1.5-inch Curved Super AMOLED screen and runs Tizen OS, but this comes with a new watch-style clasp.
