Vivo announces new iQOO sub-brand for mobile phones

Vivo has announced iQOO, the company’s latest mobile phone sub-brand in China. The company has posted a teaser without saying when we can expect new mobiles under the sub-brand or what the iQOO means. Some reports from China say that the new brand will focus on premium mobile phones, while few reports say Vivo is getting into to gaming phone segment to take on Xiaomi, Nubia and others.

Indian smartphone shipments up 14.5% YoY in 2018; Xiaomi continues to lead with 28.9% share: IDC

As per IDC’s Quarterly mobile phone tracker, the Indian smartphone market has shipped 142.3 million units in 2018, registering a healthy 14.5% year-on-year (YoY) growth as compared to 2017. Though the Q3 2018 has been the strongest quarter, the market saw a sequential decline of 15.1% in Q4 2018 owing to high channel inventory. LG Q9 One Android One smartphone with 6.1-inch QHD+ display, Water-resistant body, military-level durability announced

LG has introduced Q9 One, the company’s new Android One smartphone in Korea. It has a 6.1-inch QHD+ 19.5:9 FullVision display, is powered by  Snapdragon 835 SoC with 4GB of RAM, is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance, meets MIL-STD 810G requirements, and Hi-Fi Quad DAC. This was introduced as G7 One back in August last year at the IFA. The company recently introduced the Q9 smartphone in Korea.

Samsung Galaxy A8s gets new Pink gradient color variants

Samsung introduced the Galaxy A8s (SM-G8870) smartphone in China back in December last year for Elf blue, Aurora black and Green color variants. Today the company has introduced new Pink color variants of the smartphone with gradient finish. One with Blue with Pink gradient finish on the back, while the other version has Pink with Yellow gradient finish on the back.

Sprint files lawsuit against AT&T over its ‘5G E’ branding
