Airtel has today launched its new Wynk Tube music and video streaming service to take on rivals like YouTube Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, and others. Wynk Tube has a collection of 40 lakh songs and videos and is available only on Android, as of now and has been built keeping in mind the smartphone users in non-metros and small towns.

OPPO A1k with 6.1-inch Waterdrop display, 4000mAh battery launched in India for Rs. 8490

OPPO recently introduced A1k, the company’s new budget smartphone in Russia. The smartphone flaunts a 6.1-inch HD+ Waterdrop notch display with 87.43% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 SoC, runs Android Pie with ColorOS 6.0 and more. After the launch in Russia last week, today, OPPO has launched the phone in India.

Microsoft launcher for Android gets live cricket updates widget

Microsoft relaunched the Arrow Launcher for Android as Microsoft Launcher in October 2017 with new features and design tweaks. The launcher included features from Arrow Launcher like Bing integration and the control center panel at the bottom of the screen and new features were added to the launcher with every update. Today, Microsoft has launched a new widget for Microsoft Launcher for Android devices that brings live action from the cricket pitch directly to the user’s phone’s home screen.

LG Q1 2019 profits down 20.8% YoY due to weak smartphone sales

LG Electronics has reported revenues of 14.92 trillion won (US$ 13.27 billion) for the first quarter that ended March 31st, 2019, which is down 1.3% compared to the same quarter last year, as expected. It posted profits of 900.6 billion won (US$ 801.25 million), down 18.7% YoY, while net profit was down 20.8% YoY to 578 billion won. Samsung’s Q1 2019 profits down 60% YoY, mobile profits down 39.7% YoY

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q1 2019, in which the company has made operating profit of 6.23 trillion won, down 60.1% YoY, as expected, for the January to March 2019 period. Amazon Pay instant P2P UPI payments launched in India

Amazon launched Amazon Pay UPI for seamless transactions on Android in February this year. The company partnered with Axis bank to issue UPI IDs to its customers and allowed them to link their bank account on their Amazon mobile app and make fast, easy, and secure payments directly from the bank account. Today, Amazon has launched person to person (P2P) payments through UPI for Android users with a launch offer.

Airtel launches new Rs. 48 and Rs. 98 data packs with 28 days validity

Airtel has introduced new monthly data packs for pre-paid users in two denominations. The Rs. 48 pack comes under 3G/4G data pack that offers 3GB of data with 28 days validity.  The Rs. 98 pack comes under Special Tariff Voucher (STV) Combo that includes 6GB of data and 10 national SMS with 28 days validity.

Redmi smartphone with pop-up front camera, Snapdragon 855 teased officially

After rumors, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has official posted a teaser of its upcoming flagship smartphone. This shows a pop-up front camera and a no-notch display. Redmi President Lu Weibing already confirmed that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 855 and retain the 3.5mm audio jack. He also said that the phone will offer good performance, longer battery life, better camera, higher screen-to-body ratio with pop-up camera design.

Microsoft is testing Android alerts on Windows 10

Microsoft introduced the ‘Your Phone’ feature for Windows 10 at the Developer Conference in 2018. The new ‘Your Phone’ feature in Windows 10 enables instant access to text messages, photos, and notifications.  Now, Microsoft is said to be working on adding a new feature to ‘Your Phone’ which displays Android notifications on Windows 10 PCs.
