Xiaomi Redmi Note 7S with 6.3-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 660, 48MP camera launched in India starting at Rs. 10999

Xiaomi just launched the Redmi Note 7S, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone, as it had promised. It is an improved version of the Redmi Note 7 was launched in India back in February. It packs a 48-megapixel rear camera with 1/2″ Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 sensor, f/1.8 aperture with four-in-one pixel binning to make an 12MP image with 1.6μm pixel. It has a 5-megapixel secondary camera for portrait shots and also comes with AI features.

HONOR 20 series launching in India on June 11 on Flipkart

Update: May 20, 2019 – HONOR has announced that the HONOR 20 series will launch on Flipkart. The teaser also shows a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, as rumored earlier, Kirin 980 processor and HONOR SuperCharge technology that offers 50% of charge in 30 minutes. The global launch event in scheduled for tomorrow, May 21st at 2PM BST 6:30 PM IST). You can check out the live stream below. After the latest Google ban, the HONOR smartphones will also likely to be affected from future OS and security updates from Google.

Vivo Y3 with 6.35-inch Halo FullView display, AI triple rear cameras, 5000mAh battery announced

Vivo has introduced Y3, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the ‘Y Series’ in China. It has similar specifications as the Vivo Y17 that was launched in India last month that includes a 6.35-inch Halo FullView Display with a 19.3:9 aspect ratio and a screen-to-body ratio of 89%, Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm SoC with 4GB of RAM, Android Pie with Funtouch OS, Ultra Game Mode, 13-megapixel Main Camera, 8-megapixel 120° Super Wide-Angle Camera, and 2-megapixel Depth Camera, but this has a 16-megapixel front camera.

Xiaomi Redmi 7 goes on open sale in India

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 7 smartphone in India last month, and the phone went on sale for the first time starting April 29th through Amazon.in, Mi.com and Mi Home stores starting at Rs. 7999. It was sold every Monday after that, now the phone is available through open sale in the country in less than one month of launch. The Redmi Y3 that was launched alongside is yet to go on open sale, but the Redmi Note 7 went on open sale last month.

Redmi K20 with Snapdragon 855, 48MP rear camera, pop-up front camera to be announced on May 28

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand just announced that its ‘flagship killer’ Redmi K20 will be introduced at an event in Beijing, China on May 28th. The company already said that it will be the Flagship Killer, will be powered by Snapdragon 855, feature a 48-megapixel rear camera and a pop-up front camera. The company already posted a teaser with a pop-up front camera that has been tested 300,000 times and a no-notch display. The new image says ‘Whatever it takes’ and ‘flagship killer’.

Google services banned on upcoming HUAWEI smartphones as Google suspends business with the company [Update: Existing devices will get security updates]

Samsung Galaxy S10+ Olympic Games Edition announced

Samsung has introduced Galaxy S10 + Olympic Games Edition (SC-05L) in Japan as a part of its 2019 summer lineup, ahead of 2020 Olympic Games in Japan. The company had been releasing Olympic Edition phones since 2018 with Galaxy Note Olympic Edition, Galaxy Note 3 Olympic Edition in 2014, Galaxy S7 edge Olympic Edition in 2016 and the Galaxy Note8 2018 Winter Olympic Games Limited Edition last year. And we should see a lot more, seeing as Samsung’s sponsorship of the event doesn’t end until 2028.

OPPO has announced A9x, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone in the A series, soon after the A9 that was introduced last month. It has the same 6.53-inch Full HD+ Dew Drop notch display with 90.7% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by MediaTek Helio P70 SoC with 6GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with ColorOS 6.0 and a 16-megapixel front camera, but this has a 48-megapixel rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, four-in-one pixel binning to offer 12MP image with 1.6μm pixel.

Amazon introduces new Fire 7 tablet with more storage, faster processor for $49.99

Amazon has introduced new 9th generation Fire 7 tablet, successor of the model that was introduced back in 2017. This has a 16 GB of internal storage, up from 8GB, and also comes in 32GB version. It also has a faster processor, says the company.
