Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos Benchmarks

Samsung released the Galaxy Grand Duos in India back in January. We brought you the Galaxy Grand Duos photo gallery earlier today, here we have the benchmarks of the device. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core Broadcom BCM28155 processor based on ARM Cortex-A9 and VideoCore 4 GPU. It has a 5-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display at 186 ppi pixel density. It runs on Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

Intex Aqua SX and Aqua Star spotted on official website, priced at Rs. 4490 and Rs. 3990

Intex is all set to release two new Android smartphones in the Aqua range. We spotted the Aqua Star and the Aqua SX, the company’s upcoming affordable Android smartphones on their website. The Intex Aqua SX has almost similar features as the Aqua S including a 3.5-inch (480×320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) and is powered by a 1 GHz processor . This packs a 1450 mAh battery. The Intex Aqua Star would come with a 4-inch display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini Unboxing

Almost six months have passed since the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3 mini in Europe. It never reached the subcontinent as Samsung had planned to launch other devices with similar specifications here, like the Galaxy S Duos, which is basically a Dual SIM version of the Galaxy S3 mini. However, there are lots of differences between the S3 mini and the S Duos when it comes to the internals. Just for comparisons sake, you have to know that the S3 mini looks exactly like the S Duos. With that said, the S3 mini is an interesting device on its own, and since we have got it in our labs now, here it is, our unboxing video –

Videocon makes incoming calls free on roaming

Videocon Mobile Services has become the first operator in India to offer incoming calls free while on Roaming on their own network by default, without any processing fee or a special tariff voucher. TRAI issued a Consultation Paper One Nation, Free Roaming, on Review of Tariff for National Roaming under its National Telecom Policy 2012. Airtel introduced a new roaming pack for prepaid customers in Delhi recently that offers free incoming calls while roaming in Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Uttrakhand and West Bengal (except Kolkata). Micromax A116 Canvas HD shipments delayed, price increased to Rs. 14499

Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor back in January. It was originally priced at Rs. 13990, and the company started selling the device through online retailer Snapdeal starting from February 14th. They sold over 9000 units of the A116 Canvas HD in the first 24 hours, and started taking pre-orders for the device since all the lots were sold out. Airtel launches 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab

Airtel has launched their 4G LTE services in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula in Punjab and Haryana, followed by Kolkata, Bengaluru and Pune. All the 4G plans remain the same, but Airtel has added a new plan called Break free Supreme that would offer 50GB of free data at Rs. 4,799. These plans are available for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers in Punjab. There are also introductory cash back offers along with the new Break free Supreme plan for post-paid customers. Nokia Lumia 520 launched in India, available early April

Nokia has launched the Lumia 520 in India at an event in Delhi, along with the Lumia 720. It was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in 2013 in Barcelona last month, and appeared on the Nokia India Shop last week. It comes with a 4-inch (800 x 480 pixels) display with 2D hardened glass. The display is super sensitive touch for finger nail and glove use. It is powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8227 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. Nokia has launched the Lumia 720 in India at an event in Delhi. The Lumia 720 was unveiled at the MWC 2013 last month along with the Lumia 520. It has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 pixels) ClearBlack display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8227 processor and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8 OS. It has a 6.7-megapixel auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash, Carl Zeiss optics and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It is 9 mm thick and weighs 129 grams. Samsung has finally started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Note users in India. The Samsung Galaxy Note got the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean last month starting from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Germany. Samsung confirmed back in December that the Galaxy Note would get the multi-screen / multi-window feature in the Android 4.1 update. Times Internet has finally launched the Gaana Music app for Windows Phone devices including the Windows Phone 8. Both the Gaana and Microsoft teams have been working closely to release the Windows Phone app, and it was finally launched at the TechEd in Bangalore. Airtel can continue 3G Intra-circle roaming till final order, says Delhi HC

Delhi High Court has temporarily stalled the execution of the Department of Telecom’s (DoT) order asking Airtel to stop 3G services in 7 circles in 3 days, where they did not acquire the license, according to a recent report from Economic Times. Bharti Airtel challenged the DoT’s order in the Delhi Hight Court last week, and the court ordered them to pay Rs. 350 crore (Rs. 50 crore per circle) for violating licence norms.
