Viber now available for download on PCs and Macs, mobile version updated to 3.0 for support

Viber, the cross platform VOIP client, which broke into the scene mobile-first has now transcended to the PC ecosystem by introducing its client on Windows and Mac computers. Viber is very similar to Skype in letting you make voice calls, video calls and send messages in groups or otherwise. Only thing differentiating it from Skype was desktop support and now that part of the puzzle has been found. Viber desktop lets you do everything you do on your mobile phone and even lets you transfer calls from one device to another, which is pretty cool. Swipe Telecom has launched the Swipe 9X, the company’s latest Android smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch FWVGA (854 x 480 Pixels) Capacitive multi-touch Touch display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandiwich) OS. It has a 8-megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby similar to the Swipe Fablet F3 and Fablet F2 Android smartphones that were launched back in February. The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are 2 high-end smartphones with some very impressive specs.The HTC One has a very premium feel to it and is made of metal and packs a 4.7  inch Super LCD 1080p HD display. The  Galaxy S4 on the other hand is fully made of plastic and is extremely thin and light and packs a 5 inch SuperAMOLED 1080p HD display. Both phones are priced relatively the same worldwide. Samsung Galaxy Star Duos (GT-S5282), an entry-level Android smartphone has been spotted on Samsung India website. It was announced last month along with the Galaxy Pocket Neo. The Galaxy Star Duos has a 3-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz  processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and comes with 2G (EDGE) support. It has Dual SIM support with Always On feature that would forward calls to the other SIM. Xolo Q700 with 4.5-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.2 coming soon

Xolo teased an upcoming smartphone on their official Facebook page few hours back, now the phone has appeared on online retail site Flipkart. Xolo launched the Q800, the company’s first phone with a quad-core processor back in March. The Xolo Q700 would be next phone in the Q-Core series. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology that would reduce the phone’s thickness. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589W-M processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Xolo smartphones. It packs a 2400 mAh battery, larger than the Q800. A lot of you have been asking us if they White S4 is better than the Black one and vice versa  ,so we managed to get both the colours of the Galaxy S4 in India for a quick photo shoot. Here are some photos comparing the two variants side by side. Samsung calls the Black version – Black Mist although it is a lot closer to blue in reality. The white is called White Frost and is actually white.

Byond Tech has launched B67, a new Android Smartphone in the B-Series. It come with a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) Capacitive multi-touch Touch display with scratch resistant glass,  powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Byond B66 that was launched back in February had similar features but it came with a single-core processor. It has a 8MP auto focus rear camera with LED flash and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. Karbonn is all set to launch the S2 Titanium, the company’s new Android smartphone in their Titanium range. The S1 Titanium which was launched earlier this year had a 4.5-inch qHD  (960 × 540 pixels)  display and the S5 Titanium went on sale back in March had a larger 5-inch display with the same qHD resolution. The Karbonn S2 Titanium would come with a similar 5-inch display, but this would come with a FWVGA screen (854×480 pixels). Samsung has announced the Galaxy Core, a new mid-range Android smartphone in the Galaxy series. This has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a  5-megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP (VGA)front-facing camera. It has Smart Stay, Smart Alert and S Voice assistant. This looks like a budget version of the Galaxy S2 Plus that went on sale in India back in March. It would also come in dual SIM variant with Smart dual SIM option, similar to the Galaxy Win that went on sale in India earlier this month. Sony Xperia L now available in India for Rs. 18990

Sony Xperia L that went on pre-order in India is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Xperia L was announced back in March along with the Xperia SP and packs a 4.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) Scratch-resistant capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor, 720p HD video recording and  a VGA front-facing camera. It also has a dedicated camera key and comes with a  LED notification light below the display. Oppo unveiled the Oppo Find 5 (X909), one of the first smartphones with a 1080p display back in December 2012. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We got some hands-on time with the device at the MWC 2013 earlier this year, and brought you the unboxing earlier today. Here we have the benchmarks of the devices. Let’s see how it performs when compared to other quad-core Android smartphones.

Oppo Find 5 Unboxing ( Midnight Black Version )

Oppo Find 5 Unboxing

The Oppo Find 5 was announced back in December 2012 and we did get our sweet short hands-on time with this device with jaw-dropping looks. It is a great looking phone which is solidly built and has powerful internals and an excellent display and priced very reasonably. The package is very well designed and premium and we felt like we were dealing with an expensive piece of jewellery or an high-end electronic device.

Wynncom Mobiles has launched 4 new Android smartphones, G58, G51, G32 and G1 under their Wynncom Wiz G-series in India. The Wynncom G58 has a 5-inch (480×800 pixels) capacitive touch screen IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and has 3G support. The G51 comes with a 5-inch (480×800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor, but comes only with 2G (EDGE) support. Both these phones run on Android 4.0  (Ice Cream Sandwich). Both the Wynncom G32 and the G1 come with a 3.5-inch (480 x 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Samsung Galaxy S4 gets first software update to improve stability

It’s been barely a week since Samsung launched the Galaxy S4 in India and the device has already got a software update via OTA.The update brings stability improvements to the S4 and looks like an initial bug fix update.The phone is already running on Android 4.2.2 and this looks like a low level firmware update and not an OS update.
