Micromax A115 Canvas 3D that leaked earlier this month has gone official. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, similar to the A116 Canvas HD. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. This is the first 3D smartphone from Micromax that doesn’t require 3D glasses to watch 3D content. Sony Honami smartphone rumored to have a 16MP or 20MP Cyber-shot camera and Xenon Flash

Details of the Sony’s flagship phones codenamed Honami and Togari have surfaced. Sony’s upcoming flagship phone Honami is expected to have a 5-inch 1080p display similar to the Xperia Z, but the main highlight of the phone would be the phone’s 16MP or a 20MP Cyber-shot CMOS sensor with Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and a dual LED flash. It is also expected to have a Triluminos display that would offer vibrant colors according to VR-Zone and feature a dedicated Walkman audio chip for enhanced audio. We were at the Samsung Galaxy S4 India launch event held at a pretty interesting location , the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon near Delhi. Here are some photos and a short video we put together from the launch event for your viewing pleasure.Samsung called the event “Galaxy S3 World Tour 2013 India”. The presentation was not as crazy as the unpacked event in New York but close enough with a Bollywood style dance performance with a couple of dancers coming out from the ceiling ! Samsung Galaxy Win and Galaxy Fame get priced in India at Rs. 18300 and Rs. 10999

Samsung Galaxy Win (GT-I8552) and the Galaxy Fame (S6812) have  been priced at Rs. 18300 and Rs. 10999 and now available in India according to our friends at Mahesh Telecom. The Samsung Galaxy Win was announced earlier this month and packs a 4.7-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) TFT display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). The Samsung Galaxy Fame was announced earlier this year along with the Galaxy Young. It 3.5-inch ( 480 × 320 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). Samsung readying its India plant for manufacturing the Galaxy S4

Not too long ago, Samsung proclaimed in their REX series launch event that they had started to manufacture those range of devices at their manufacturing facility in India. They also proudly touted that the R&D was completely done in-house as well. While the R&D might still take longer for higher end devices, Samsung has announced that their Noida facility will undertake the manufacturing of the Samsung Galaxy S4 real soon, in order to meet demand. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched a couple of days back in India and you can see the unboxing of the Exynos 5 Octa Indian version here.

Idea Cellular is all set to launched a new Android Smartphone, Idea Whiz with a 4-inch WVGA display and a 1 GHz dual-core processor. The company launched the AURUS 2, successor of the first AURUS phone recently. Even though this has a larger display and a faster processor, the phone runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) instead of Android 4.1.  It has a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. LG Optimus GK with 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor announced

LG has announced the Optimus GK, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the Optimus series. This has a  5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) similar to the Optimus G Pro (L-04E) that went on sale in Japan earlier this month.  It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was announced for the Indian market yesterday and priced at Rs.41500. Here is our unboxing video of the retail package which will go on sale in India today at several stores across India mainly in Delhi , Mumbai ,  Bangalore and Hyderabad.The Indian version packs Samsung’s Octa-core processor which is a combination of a 1.6GHz quad-core processor and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor.

Alcatel One Touch launched the One Touch Idol and One Touch Idol Ultra Android smartphones last week in India for Rs. 15800 and Rs. 21000 respectively. Now the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy (8000D) is available in India from online retailer Snapdeal. It was announced at the MWC 2013 earlier this year and packs a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen display, powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, 720p HD video recording and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has HD sound and dedicated touch pen and magnetic MagicFlip. Celkon, known for its cheap value for money Android phones, including its new A119 Signature HD that we reviewed recently, has been spotted of selling its new low end Android device, the Celkon A62 on Snapdeal. The device comes with a huge 4.7 inch screen, with a resolution of 854×480 pixels. While it may not sound really exciting, we must remind you that it costs Rs. 6,799/- which is probably one of the few devices that have a huge screen at this price.

International Data Corporation(IDC), the market research firm that usually outs numbers for the mobile phone market every quarter has something new to say this quarter. According to them, the first quarter of 2013 has been the first time ever in the history of the mobile phone market that the Smartphones have outshipped feature phones. The whole worldwide mobile phone market seems to have grown 4% this quarter. Samsung still remains the leader in the mobile phone market dominating sales in both smartphones as well as feature phones.

Samsung launched the all new Galaxy S4 amidst much fanfare in Kingdom of Dreams, Gurgaon today, in India near New Delhi. Like we had expected, Samsung has not launched the Snapdragon 600 powered version like in other LTE markets including USA and Europe. The Galaxy S4 variant launched here in India will pack the Exynos 5410 Octa-core processor developed by Samsung using the ARM big.LITTLE architecture. Samsung today launched the much awaited Galaxy S4 android smartphone in India at an event here in Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon. This 5 inch full HD flagship device from Samsung which will go on sale starting tomorrow April 27th, is priced at Rs. 41,500. As expected, the 1.6 GHz Octa-core variant of the Galaxy S4 will be made available for the Indian market. The device will first go on sale in Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bangalore tomorrow and all over India after that. It comes bundled with a Vodafone offer, unlimited 3G internet with FUP, 3000 minutes worth of local and STD voice calls, 750 local and national messages. Samsung Galaxy S4 launching at Reliance Digital stores on April 27th

Looks like Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S4 in India through multiple channels.  The much anticipated Android phone will be launched at Reliance Digital Stores  across India on April 27th with a launch party for pre-booking customers in the evening in Mumbai. Certain outlets have started pre-bookings since yesterday. We had reported today morning about the Galaxy S4 going on sale on Samsung’s official online store on 27th.
