Xiaomi today announced that it will unveil the Redmi Note 4X, an enhanced version of the Redmi Note 4 in China for Valentine’s Day, February 14th. The teaser says that it will be introduced by a new ambassador, who could be 16 years old, but it did not reveal any other details about the smartphone. Earlier rumors indicate that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 653 SoC instead of Helio X20 in the Chinese or Snapdragon 625 in the Indian version of the Redmi Note 4. Huawei’s Honor brand introduced the Honor 6X smartphone with dual rear cameras for the global markets at the CES 2017 last month. It was launched in India a couple of weeks back and went on sale exclusively on Amazon.in in the first flash sale yesterday. The phone currently runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with the company’s own EMUI 4.1 on top. Now the company has promised to roll out EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) starting from next month. Huawei Honor brand today introduced Honor 8 Lite, a cheaper version of last year’s flagship Honor 8 smartphone in Finland. The main difference is that this has a 12-megapixel single rear camera instead of dual 12-megapixel rear cameras on the Honor 8. This also comes with a less powerful Kirin 655 processor, similar to the Honor 6X instead of Honor 8’s Kirin 950 SoC, but this runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.0 out of the box.
