Wileyfox, a smartphone brand based in the UK introduced Swift 2X, successor of last year’s Swift 2. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p screen, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 430 SoC, pack a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and an 8-megapixel front camera. It has unibody metal design, has a fingerprint sensor with NXP NQ220 technology on the back and comes with hybrid dual SIM support along with 4G LTE connectivity. HTC today announced HTC U Play, a smaller version of the HTC U Ultra with a 5.2-inch 1080p display without a secondary screen. This has the has same glass design with a metal frame and HTC Sense Companion for AI-based suggestions. This is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, has 16-megapixel front and rear cameras and a fingerprint sensor on the front.

HTC just announced U Ultra, the company’s flagship smartphone in the new ‘U series’. The main highlight of the smartphone is the 2-inch 520 PPI secondary touch-screen display above the main display, like the LG V20. It has a glass finish on the front and back, and a metal frame and the rear glass is fully curved at all four edges. HTC says that it has developed a unique process called optical spectrum hybrid deposition” to give the glass multi-layered color. Nokia teases more Android smartphones are coming on February 26 at MWC 2017

HMD Global introduced the Nokia 6 smartphone earlier this week, which will go on sale exclusively in China on January 19th. It already confirmed its appearance at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 that is scheduled between February 27th and March 2nd in Barcelona. Now we have a date for the event.

Android Nougat now on 0.7% of Android devices, Froyo finally bids adieu

Google is out with its monthly Android distribution chart which is also the first one of 2017. Android Nougat 7.0 is still crawling at 0.5%, up just 1% from last month. However, Android Nougat 7.1 has made its debut in the chart at 0.2%. This means the Google’s latest Android OS is currently available only on 0.7% of all Android devices. WhatsApp for Android beta gets GIF search, media sharing limit raised to 30

WhatsApp has finally added GIF search support for Android beta. The Facebook owned messaging service first added an option to send videos as GIF in August following which it allowed sending of GIFs that are saved on your device. Now, you can will be able to search different types of GIFs right within the app itself. WhatsApp for iOS already has this feature since November last year.
