Nokia and Polar Mobile to launch over 300 mobile apps for Symbian , Meego and Windows Phone

Looks like Nokia is still supporting Meego and Symbian as it plans to launch over 300 apps for Symbian , Meego and Windows Phone devices over the next 12 months. The handset maker has entered into an agreement with mobile app developer Polar Mobile to launch apps for top media brands. The first 50 apps will be available on Nokia Ovi Store for Symbian phones.All these apps are expected to use the Qt framework which enables developers to reuse code across various mobile platforms. Motorola Defy Plus is Official – runs Gingerbread and can survive some abuse !

The rumoured Motorola Defy+ which is the successor to the original Defy is finally official close on the heels of the Google to acquire Motorola Mobility announcement . The Defy Plus retains the glory of it’s ancestor and is Water Resistant, Scratch Resistant and Dust Proof. We are not totally sure what extent of abuse this phone can handle. Our very own Jon had the pleasure of dipping the the old Defy in a glass of water and it did function properly afterwards. In terms of specs it is powered by a 1GHz CPU and runs on Android 2.3 and runs on a 1700 mAh battery. The 3.7 inch display is made of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass.You can find the full specs below. As you can see there are minor improvements in terms of specs but we wish Motorola promoted this phone in a better way at least in countries where it rains a lot !

SIM-Free Nokia N9 to land in UK through Unofficial Channels

Micromax takes on iPhone with Affordable Android

Micromax A70 is a entry level Android Phone from handset maker Micromax who is well known primarily for its Dual SIM devices. The company had a big advert today in a leading newspaper Times of India pictured above which pokes fun at the iPhone and at the same time conveys the message to the prospective buyer. No one can deny the fact that the iPhone has become the benchmark for any Touchscreen phone. But the iPhone still  remains expensive with the cheapest offering available only at Rs.19,990 and Micromax seems to be cashing in on that.

First Screenshots of Ice Cream Sandwich Revealed

Ice Cream Sandwich was officially announced back at Google I/O which is actually an upcoming version of Google Android OS. Google is actually making a one OS for all their Android devices because at the moment Android tablets runs on Honeycomb (few of them on Gingerbread) and all new smartphones are running on Gingerbread and few of them are Froyo powered. On the announcement, Google told us that it will be out later this year and we also heard recently that it will be out in October. Now it seems that Ice Cream Sandwich is almost around the corner because Android-Police and RootzWiki got their hands on first screenshots of the Google’s upcoming Android OS known as Ice Cream Sandwich.
