Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070, an upcoming Android phone has surfaced in Philippines. It looks like smaller version of Samsung Galaxy S II with 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It has curved design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but the specs are similar to Galaxy R that was announced last year. It runs on Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) with enhanced TouchWiz UI, which should be upgradable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Yahoo has announced that they would no longer support some of their mobile apps for iPad, iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, citing pace of change in the mobile space. They said that they have to keep moving, to keep innovating, and to continuously measure and scrutinize what’s working and what isn’t. Some of their latest apps Livestand for iPad, Hub for Android, Play for Android and their popular Yahoo! Mail, Messenger, Sportacular and Flickr would remain. Grand Theft Auto (GTA) III for Android has been updated to version 1.3 that brings new features such as support for Asus Transformer Prime and Medion LifeTab tablets. Rockstar games launched the first version, 1.2 on December 15 for Android and iPhone. The new version also comes with new features such as Haptic Feedback, SD card support and more. The Lumia 710 is Nokia’s attempt at making Windows Phone cheaper and accessible to the market. While the Lumia 710 can be considered an ‘entry level’ Windows Phone, the specs says otherwise. LG has announced that they have shipped 1 million units of Optimus LTE, their first phone to come with LTE support and HD display. They announced the Optimus LTE in Korea last October for SK Telecom (SKT) and LG U+ that was popular from the first day in Korea that sold 5,000 units on the first day of the launch. Huawei MediaPad is finally on sale in India from online retailers after their announcement last November. It was announced globally last June and comes with a 7-inch (1280×800 IPS) LCD display, Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS (Upgradable to Android 4.0) and it is powered by Dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor. Bloomberg reports that if analyst figures are to be believed , the Nokia Lumia series of handsets might have shipped in excess of 1million handsets so far. The figure was achieved by taking an average of the input from 22 different analysts , in other words it should be taken with a pinch of salt.
