Apple just announced that it has sold 3 million iPads since its launch on Friday , March 16th. The new iPad features a new Retina Display alongside an improved A5x chip with quadcore graphics. LTE capabilities are also included in this 3rd generation model.

Apple has started sending out invites to the journalists in the US for the iPad event slated for March 7th in San Francisco. Apple is holding its event at San Francisco’s Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco, as opposed to its headquarters in Cupertino.
