Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2, TabPRO 12.2, TabPRO 10.1 and TabPRO 8.4 tablets with  WQXGA (2560 x 1600) displays and Android 4.4 (Kitkat) at the CES 2014  last month. These tablets are available for pre-order from Office Depot, Walmart, Best Buy, Amazon and more retailers in the US and would go on sale on February 13th, just in time for the Valentine’s day. It has a 2-megapixel pixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support, 3G data connectivity(WCDMA, GSM & EVDO) and voice calling through a SIM card slot packs 1GB RAM and a 3800 mAh battery. Samsung Ativ S was Samsung’s first Windows Phone 8 device and it barely saw the launch because of various problems. Many thought Samsung was out of the Windows Phone business as there were no devices, but things are about to change. Samsung is preparing a Full HD high end smartphone running on Windows Phone 8.1 for Verizon.

Facebook Paper now available for iPhone in the US

Facebook introduced Paper, a social news aggregator last week that also lets you share you stories and view Facebook images. The app has gone live in the US for iPhone. It has the Facebook News Feed, similar to the Facebook app, but the UI is completely different from what you see in the Facebook app. It shows the feed in a different layout, similar to the Flipkart. Google opens up Chromecast for developers, makes streaming main stream

Google announced their 35$ dongle – Chromecast at the Google I/O 2013 event last year. At launch, Chromecast was restricted to US and eventually started rolling out to other countries. It is officially available in India and is priced around Rs. 3,300 from Amazon. What this Chromecast does is that it lets you stream content from your iOS or Android device or PC to your TV via WiFi.

LG G Pro 2 to feature 13MP camera with OIS plus and 4K video recording

Last week LG confirmed that it would launch the LG G Pro 2, successor of the LG G Pro later this month. The company did not reveal the specifications or image of the device at that time. Last week images of the G Pro 2 appeared online showing G2-like rear-mounted power button and volume keys. Today LG has confirmed that it would have a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and OIS (Optical Image Stabilizer or optical image stabilization) capabilities. Samsung schedules Unpacked event for Feb 24th to unveil Samsung Galaxy S5

Samsung is expected to announce the next iteration of Galaxy S series sometime soon and there were early rumors that Samsung will be holding an event on Feb 23rd, but it turns out that they are holding the unpacked event on Feb 24th, just on the starting day of MWC 2014. The event invite tells us that this is Samsung’s Unpacked event 5 and it also mentions it as episode 1. The event will take place in Barcelona.

FlappyBird to introduce the sensation of rage quit to Windows Phone soon

FlappyBird is coming soon to Windows Phone, possibly in just 10 more days, if the developer’s tweet is to be believed. The recent mobile sensation is a frustratingly simple game with intentionally clunky physics that has taken over the world for its difficulty in scoring. It’s also been made into Internet memes and is hugely popular with the young crowd for the ability to make people “Rage quit” the game in frustration. Like all new releases, this game too evades support for Windows Phone, but if the developer’s tweet is to believed, this game will likely be landing on Windows Phone really soon.

LG G Flex gets priced on official website at Rs. 69,999

LG showcased the LG G Flex, the company’s first smartphone with a curved OLED display in India at an event back in December last year and promised that it would launch in February. Now the smartphone has been listed on the official LG India website at Rs. 69,999 (MRP). The LG G Flex was announced back in October 2013 and packs a 6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Curved Plastic OLED display that vertically concave from top to bottom to a radius of 700mm. Windows 8.1 Update 1 leaked ahead of official March release

Windows 8.1 Update 1, a small evolutionary update to the controversial operating system from Microsoft, has leaked ahead of its official March release. The update 1 is squarely aimed at desktop users, with enhancements made to lessen the gestural actions that don’t make sense for people using Windows 8 with a keyboard/mouse combination. New mouse-focused context menus, search and power/shutdown buttons on the lock screen and the ability to add metro apps to the taskbar are some of the notable changes in Update 1. This sets the stage for the next version of Windows codenamed “Threshold” which will be detailed at the Build developer event in April and released to OEMs sometime next year.

Nokia Lumia 1320 Camera Samples

Nokia Lumia 1320 was announced as one of the two phablets that Nokia unveiled at their Abu Dhabi event in 2013. Nokia Lumia 1320 comes with mid-range specifications and has a 6inch display sporting a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. Apart from the mid-range specifications, it comes with a 5MP camera and LED flash. There is a front facing VGA camera for video calls. The Nokia Lumia 1320 can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
