HTC One Android 4.4 KitKat update coming to EMEA countries by January 2014

HTC already promised that they would roll out the Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for the HTC One within 90 days from the official KitKat launch on 31st October. Now the Android Community is reporting that HTC has told them that the EMEA countries (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) would get the Android 4.4 update starting from the end of January.

The HTC One Google Play Edition got the Android 4.3 update before the HTC One received it. HTC already confirmed that the Developer Edition and unlock version would get the KitKat update within 30 days. The report says that the HTC One GPe would get the update by the end of November. Looks like Samsung might also roll out the update at the same time, since the Samsung Galaxy S4 Google Play Edition got the Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) update at the same time as the HTC One GPe.

HTC would reveal the update details for the One Max and the One mini soon. It is not clear when the U.S. and the Asian countries would get the update. Sony is expected to reveal the Android 4.4 roll out details later this week. No word from Samsung or LG regarding the roll out.
