Gionee unveiled the Elife E7, the company’s first Snapdragon 800-powered smartphone in India few months back. It went on sale in India recently, starting at Rs. 26,999. We already brought you the unboxing of the device, here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974) 28nm HPm Krait 400 CPU clocked at 2.15 GHz with Adreno 330 GPU. Apple introduced the iPad Air with a Apple A7 64 bit processor, M7 motion co-processor and a slim design last October. At the same time it discontinued the 4th generation iPad with Retina Display, few months after the launch and reduced the price of iPad 2 to $399. Today, Apple has decided to discontinue the 3-year old iPad 2 to bring back the 4th generation iPad with Retina Display. LG unveiled the G Pro 2, successor of the G Pro ahead of Mobile World Congress last month. It went on sale in Korea at the end of February, even before it was showcased at the MWC. The company today announced that it has started selling the smartphones in Asian markets including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Philippine, Vietnam and Indonesia. It was showcased at the LG Tech Show 2014 event in India earlier this month, but the company did not reveal the launch date of the yet. Last week, Rovio teased that they were introducing an Angry Birds themed RPG game and that it would be called Angry Birds Epic. Today, the game has gone live in App stores of countries like New Zealand, Australia and Canada. This is just a soft release and when the game is ready, it will be available for everybody across Apple App Store, Google Play Store and Microsoft Windows Store.

Facebook Messenger for iPhone got free voice calling feature in the US and Canada back in February 2013. It rolled out for Android users in Canada in March, it rolled out in the US and in 24 countries in April last year. You can make calls only to Facebook Messenger users on iPhone and Android over 3G or WiFi. It is not available for Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone that was launch recently. Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphone in the Redmi series got certified in Tenna in China last week. Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi Tech has confirmed that the phone would called Redmi Note / Red Rice Note and would feature a 5.5-inch HD screen and an octa-core MediaTek MTK6592 processor. As you can see from the image, it has capacitive touch buttons that glows in Red and a LED notifications light on top. Karbonn, Lava and Xolo would launch smartphones running on Windows Phone in coming months, according to a recent report from TOI. Last month at the Mobile World Congress, Microsoft announced nine new Windows Phone partners, that includes Karbonn and Xolo from India. Micromax launched the Micromax Canvas Knight A350, the company latest flagship smartphone and the successor of the Canvas Turbo few weeks back . We already brought you the photo gallery and the unboxing of device. Here we have the benchmarks of the smartphone. It is powered by a Octa-Core MediaTek MT6592 processor which as 8 ARM Cortex-A7 CPUs, each clocked at 2 GHz, faster than the Auqa Octa and the iberry Auxus Nuclea N2, that were clocked at 1.66 GHz. It has a Mali 450-MP4 GPU. It comes with a 5-inch 1080p display, 2GB RAM and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The Octa-Core chip comes with Heterogeneous Multi-Processing (HMP), where all the core can be turned ON at the same time. Check out the synthetic benchmark results below.

This is one of the first phones in India to feature a full HD display and a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 chip.
