Google Play Games update brings Search, Snake game, YouTube videos with gameplay and more

Google Play Games app is getting a new update (v5.10) which brings features like new setting to disable autoplay videos, new search, removed settings to disabled Quest and Request notifications (v5.9), added Snake, YouTube links under games in the carousel (v5.8), White nav bar (v5.8). Google Play Games reportedly getting quest alerts and snapshots

Google is adding improvements in to Google Play Games with several features, according to Android Police. For starters, Play Games is getting Quest notifications that will alert the player whenever new quests are available, send notifications letting them know a quest has started and also when the quest was completed. Helping developers expand on the use of quests within games is a great move by Google.

Google updates Game Gifting and new Game Developer Tools

Google introduced Play Games as a competitor to Apple’s Game Center, but it has hardly caught up in the race. The Google Play Games still lacks in features like how you cannot properly use gift codes and also the free to paid app transition is troublesome. Google has just announced an update to the Play Games service in the form of new developer options and also ability to gift in the game.

Google Play Games app released, lets you discover new games, track achievements and play with friends

Google announced the Google Play Games services back in May at the Google I/O. Now the Google Play Games app is live in the Play Store that lets you invite a friend and start challenging gamers around the world, compete for top achievements, and race to the top of the leaderboard. You can also discover new games and play with friends and join supported multiplayer games. It also shows notifications and friend’s requests. By default only users from your Google Play circles can send requests, but you can change it from the settings.
