2020 iPhone models may have larger battery with new battery protection circuits

ITM Semiconductor, a South Korean circuit manufacturer who began supplying battery circuit modules for the iPhone 11 is supposedly going to be supplying newer battery protection circuits for the upcoming iPhone 12. The newer module will likely enable the iPhone 12 to have a larger battery capacity due to the smaller size of the protection circuit.

Sony Xperia 1 and Xperia 5 Android 10 update starts rolling out

Sony introduced the Xperia 1 smartphone with 4K OLED HDR 21:9 display at MWC earlier this year and the company launched the Xperia 5 with 21:9 display recently at IFA this year. Both smartphones shipped with Android 9.0 (Pie) and now, Sony has started rolling out the Android 10 update to both Xperia 1 and Xperia 5.

OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T OxygenOS 10.0 Android 10 stable update starts rolling out [Update: OxygenOS 10.0.1 hotfix]

Update 3: OnePlus is rolling out new OxygenOS 10.0.1 hotfix for the OnePlus 6 and 6T. Google Pixel phones get December 2019 security update, brings Live Captions, Gesture navigation in third-party launchers and more to older Pixels

Google has started rolling out new over-the-air (OTA) update for Pixel devices and also posted factory images as part of monthly Android Security release for December. Pixel and Pixel XL get the final patch, as it had promised. Google is also adding Live Captions (for Pixel 3 and later), Styles & Wallpaper (Pixel 3 and Later) Pixel themes, Swipe-down gesture for notifications and Gesture navigation in third-party launchers (Pixel 2 and later), as noted by Android Police. Samsung confirms Android 10 update for range of Galaxy smartphones, only available for 2018 and 2019 devices

Samsung announced Android 10 beta program officially for the Galaxy S10 series last month, and roll out the beta update for Galaxy S10 series, Galaxy Note 10 series few weeks back, and most recently for the Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy S9 series. Now it has confirmed the Android 10 One UI 2.0 update schedule for its old phones, and also said that stable update will begin starting from January 2020 for its flagships. However, it is offering update only for the phones that are released in 2018 and 2019. ASUS ZenFone 5Z Android 10 stable update starts rolling out in India

After the 6Z, ASUS has started rolling out Android 10 update for the 5Z smartphone globally, including India. The phone was launched back in July last year running Android 8.0 (Oreo) with ZenUI 5.0, and got the Android Pie update earlier this year. The new Android 10 update with ZenUI 6.0 brings system-wide dark theme, smart app support on messages, gesture-based UI navigation, enhanced security and privacy, and this update also upgrades the Google Play services. Get Android 10 on POCO F1 with OxygenOS port

Xiaomi’s sub-brand POCO launched the POCO F1 smartphone in India back in August 2018 running MIUI 9.6 Global Stable on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo) and later updated it to Android 9.0 in December 2018. The device runs MIUI 11 based on Android 9.0 as of now. POCO F1 is confirmed to get Android 1o update but the company has not shared any timeline for Android 10 rollout but POCO F1 has one of the most active developer community. Realme confirms Android 10 update roadmap, roll out begins in 2020 [Update: X2 Pro to get it in Q1 2020]

At the realme XT launch event the company revealed roadmap for Android 10 roll out for its smartphones. The roll out begins Q1 2020 and will continue through Q3 2020. The company did not reveal any details about the realme OS, but the Android 10 update will likely come with realmeOS. A recent report said that realme OS will be availble for all the realme phones,but the realme 1, realme 2, realme C and realme U series are missing in the roadmap. Twitter rolls out ‘Hide Replies’ feature globally

Update: November 22 — Twitter has started rolling out the hide replies feature globally so that users can choose to hide replies to their Tweets, after testing it back in July. Everyone can see and engage with hidden replies by tapping the gray icon that will appear on the Tweets. It has also posted things it learned during the test.
