Huawei’s Honor brand introduced the Honor 6X smartphone with dual rear cameras for the global markets at the CES 2017 last month. It was launched in India a couple of weeks back and went on sale exclusively on Amazon.in in the first flash sale yesterday. The phone currently runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with the company’s own EMUI 4.1 on top. Now the company has promised to roll out EMUI 5.0 based on Android 7.0 (Nougat) starting from next month. Huawei Honor brand today introduced Honor 8 Lite, a cheaper version of last year’s flagship Honor 8 smartphone in Finland. The main difference is that this has a 12-megapixel single rear camera instead of dual 12-megapixel rear cameras on the Honor 8. This also comes with a less powerful Kirin 655 processor, similar to the Honor 6X instead of Honor 8’s Kirin 950 SoC, but this runs Android 7.0 (Nougat) with EMUI 5.0 out of the box.
