Google has finally confirmed that Android 8.0 ‘O’ will be called Oreo. It has also released final system images for Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel C, Pixel and Pixel XL that can be downloaded from Android developer website here and also started rolling out OTA update for those who have signed up for beta program. It is also pushing sources to Android Open Source Project (AOSP). At the Google I/O 2017 Stephanie Saad Cuthbertson, Director, Product Management Google announced that Android O will bring more fluid experiences, as well as improvements to what the company call “vitals” like battery life and security. Android Vitals focuses on optimizing battery life, start up time, graphic rendering time, and stability. On Google Pixel boot time will be 2x faster in Android O, compared to Android N.
