The ASUS Fonepad and the Samsung Galaxy Note 510(also called the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0) are one of a kind tablets. Both launched at MWC, with similar functionality, but with different markets in mind. Carrying the Note brand, the Galaxy Note 8.0 or the Note 510 as it is called in India, has stylus features and all the Samsung goodness associated with all its Note products, while the Fonepad is ASUS’ first entry into the calling tablet market with it squarely aimed at the Tab 2 310’s price range while offering more performance per rupee ratio. By design and looks, it is clearly a Nexus 7 in another form. Between these two tablets, we are going to see which one is better and which one might suit you the best in case you are in confusion. Google Nexus 7 32GB WiFi + 3G now available from Snapdeal for Rs. 21999


Google Nexus 7 16GB version went on sale in India from the Google Play Store back in March at a price tag of Rs. 15,999, and the 32GB version went on sale from the Google Play last month at Rs. 18,999. Asus launched the 32GB WiFi and 32GB 3G versions of the tablet in India last  month. The 3G version went on sale only from select retail shops such as Reliance, but it didn’t show up on Google Play. Now online retailer Snapdeal has started selling the Nexus 7 32GB WiFi + 3G version along with the 32 GB WiFi version. The HTC One and Samsung Galaxy S4 are 2 high-end smartphones with some very impressive specs.The HTC One has a very premium feel to it and is made of metal and packs a 4.7  inch Super LCD 1080p HD display. The  Galaxy S4 on the other hand is fully made of plastic and is extremely thin and light and packs a 5 inch SuperAMOLED 1080p HD display. Both phones are priced relatively the same worldwide. UC Web announces partnership with Trend Micro for in-browser mobile web safety assessment

Over at the Global Mobile Internet Conference, UCWeb has announced a new partnership with global internet security expert, Trend Micro. Under the agreement, both companies will work to provide mobile web safety assessments in the browser. The aim is provide a comprehensive safety net for users of the product via cloud based security scans in the browser and also for Android apps downloaded via the UC Web browser.

Trend Micro analyzes as much as 4.46TB of data every day and has identified 350,000 high risk Android applications. This number is further expected to grow by 400% to 1.4 million in 2013.

UC Web with a global userbase in excess of 400 million and with 200 million daily registered clicks aims to provide comprehensive cloud based security for its users through its partnership with Trend Micro. The technology in question is Trend Micro’s Application Reputation Service (MARS) that works with both websites and Android applications. The service has analyzed close to 3 million Android apps to date with about 560,000 of them being flagged as malicious. UC Web has added the feature to version 7.4 of its browser making it the world’s first ‘secure mobile browser’.Considering the browser’s popularity in developing markets, the move is a welcome addition. The Galaxy Star Duos has a 3-inch (320 x 240 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz  processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 2-megapixel rear camera and comes with 2G (EDGE) support. It has Dual SIM support with Always On feature that would forward calls to the other SIM. Xolo Q700 with 4.5-inch qHD IPS display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.2 coming soon

Xolo teased an upcoming smartphone on their official Facebook page few hours back, now the phone has appeared on online retail site Flipkart. Xolo launched the Q800, the company’s first phone with a quad-core processor back in March. The Xolo Q700 would be next phone in the Q-Core series. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology that would reduce the phone’s thickness. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589W-M processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Xolo smartphones. It packs a 2400 mAh battery, larger than the Q800. A lot of you have been asking us if they White S4 is better than the Black one and vice versa  ,so we managed to get both the colours of the Galaxy S4 in India for a quick photo shoot. Here are some photos comparing the two variants side by side. Samsung calls the Black version – Black Mist although it is a lot closer to blue in reality. The white is called White Frost and is actually white.

The Karbonn S2 Titanium would come with a similar 5-inch display, but this would come with a FWVGA screen (854×480 pixels). Samsung has announced the Galaxy Core, a new mid-range Android smartphone in the Galaxy series. This has a 4.3-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) LCD capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a  5-megapixel Auto Focus Camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP (VGA)front-facing camera. It has Smart Stay, Smart Alert and S Voice assistant. This looks like a budget version of the Galaxy S2 Plus that went on sale in India back in March. It would also come in dual SIM variant with Smart dual SIM option, similar to the Galaxy Win that went on sale in India earlier this month. Sony Xperia L now available in India for Rs. 18990

Sony Xperia L that went on pre-order in India is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. The Xperia L was announced back in March along with the Xperia SP and packs a 4.3-inch (854 x 480 pixels) Scratch-resistant capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8230 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It comes with a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash, Exmor RS sensor, 720p HD video recording and  a VGA front-facing camera. It also has a dedicated camera key and comes with a  LED notification light below the display. Samsung Galaxy Chat Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update now available in India


Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the Galaxy Chat (GT-B5330) in India. The Galaxy Chat was announced back in July 2012 running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It was officially launched in India in September 2012. Samsung confirmed Android 4.1 update for range of Galaxy devices last year. Samsung Galaxy S Advance received the Jelly Bean update in India last week. Oppo unveiled the Oppo Find 5 (X909), one of the first smartphones with a 1080p display back in December 2012. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz with Adreno 320 GPU. It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). We got some hands-on time with the device at the MWC 2013 earlier this year, and brought you the unboxing earlier today. Here we have the benchmarks of the devices. Let’s see how it performs when compared to other quad-core Android smartphones.
