Indian tablet market soars by 9% in Q2, 2014: Report

The Indian tablet market grew by 9% to 0.86 million units in the quarter ended June, according to a latest report from market researcher International Data Corp. (IDC). IDC said that market indicated early signs of recovery in Q2 2014 after taking a sharp hit in the past couple of quarters.

Oppo launched the N1 Mini, a smaller variant of the Oppo N1 with the same swivel camera, in India last month for Rs. 26,990. We brought you the unboxing, here are the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor clocked at 1.59 GHz per core and has Adreno 305 GPU. Samsung would launch the Galaxy S Duos 3 (SM-G313HU), successor of the S Duos 2 in India soon, according to the Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom who has the smartphone in stock for Rs. 7,999. It would be priced at an MRP of Rs. 8,590. The Galaxy S Duos 3 is the Dual SIM 3G version of the Galaxy Ace 4 that was unveiled back in June, so it has similar specifications including a 4-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Samsung TouchWiz Essence UI, 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Obi Mobiles launched Octopus S520, the company’s first smartphone back in July, today it has launched five new smartphones. These include, Obi S400, S450, Python S452, S500 and Wolverine S501 that are priced between Rs. 4,200 and Rs. 7,850.
