Opera Mini to come pre-installed on all Micromax Android devices

Opera Software and Micromax have teamed up to pre-install Opera Mini browser on all Micromax Android devices. So far, Opera mini comes pre-installed on about 50 devices inclusive of smartphones and tablets from Micromax.

Amazon announces new Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 with Snapdragon 805

Amazon has updated its Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet. It has a that same 8.9-inch ( 2560 x 1600 pixels) display, but now it is powered by a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 805 processor, instead of Snapdragon 800 on last year’s Fire HDX 8.9. It runs on the new Fire OS 4.0 Sangria based on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 8-megapixel rear camera with 5P f/2.2 lens and a front-facing 720p HD camera. Amazon Fire HD 6 and new Fire HD 7 announced, starts at $99

Amazon has introduced the Fire HD 6 and has also upgraded last year’s Fire HD with a faster processor. The Fire HD 6 and H7 have 6-inch and 7-inch 1280 x 800 pixel displays, faster 1.5 GHz quad-core processors, 2MP rear and a VGA front-facing camera. These run on Fire OS 4 Sangria based on Android 4.4 KitKat. Both these have 1GB of RAM and come in 8GB and 16GB variants. These don’t have LTE support. Lenovo A7-30 Benchmarks

Lenovo A7-30 tablet with voice calling went on sale in India back in June for Rs. 9,979. We brought you the unboxing and the photo gallery of the tablet recently, here are the benchmarks of the tablet. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT8382 SoC clocked at 1.3GHz with Mali 400-MP2 GPU and has 1GB RAM. It has a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) multi touch IPS display. Samsung has cut the price of the Galaxy Core 2 to Rs. 8,007 in India, soon after the launch of Android One smartphones. Prior to the price cut it was selling for Rs.11,900 on the official eStore, which is the launch price of the smartphone. Pre-order for Nvidia Shield Tablet with 4G LTE and 32GB storage goes live

Nvidia Shield tablet was announced in July this year with only a 16GB and 32GB variant. At that time, the company had said that it will make the 32GB variant available later this year and now it has gone live for pre-order.

Lava Iris 405+ gets Android 4.4 KitKat update

Lava rolled out Android 4.4 (KitKat) over-the-air (OTA) update for the Iris 504Q+ back in July, now the company has started rolling out Android 4.4 update for the Iris 405+ smartphone. It was launched back in January running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). The KitKat update for the smartphone should offer improved user experience through an enhanced user interface and software performance.It also brings a new dialer app. Lava is yet to release the official changelog for the update.
