Android ‘M’ is officially known as Marshmallow

Google introduced the newest version of Android at its annual developer summit. The preview was known as ‘Android M’ and the company did not reveal what M stands for. Today, Google has announced that the latest iteration of Android will be called as ‘Marshmallow’.

Micromax has launched Canvas Selfie 2 Q340 and Canvas Selfie 3 Q348, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphones. The Canvas Selfie 2 has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with OmniVision OV5670 sensor and 4P lens. The Canvas Selfie 3 has a 8-megapixel front camera with Sony MX179 sensor and LED Flash. Both these are powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot, dual SIM support and 3G connectivity. OnePlus released a minor Oxygen OS 1.0.2 update to fix Stagefright security exploit last week. But this doesn’t fix the latest vulnerability in the Stagefright library (CVE-2015-3864) that was reported last week. As you can see from the screenshot, this is confirmed by the Zimperium’s Stagefright Detector App that got updated to add detection of the latest vulnerability. Samsung G9198 dual-screen Android flip phone with Snapdragon 808 announced

Samsung introduced G9098, an Android flip phone with dual displays in China last year.  This year the company has introduced (Via) G9198, an upgraded version with dual 3.9-inch (768 x 1280 pixels) WXGA Super AMOLED screens, one on the front and the the other on the inside along with a T9 keypad. It is powered by a hexa-core Snapdragon 808, has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Lenovo launched A2010, a budget smartphone with 4G support in Vietnam earlier this month. Now the company is planning to launch it in India as the most affordable 4G smartphone, according to a report from The Economic Times. The ZTE Blade Qlux 4G was launched back in June at Rs. 4999 as India’s cheapest 4G smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime Benchmarks

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 2 Prime smartphone in India last week for Rs. 6,999. We already brought you the unboxing of the smartphone, here we have the benchmarks. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 410 (MSM8916) SoC that has four ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs clocked at 1.21GHz per core, similar to the Redmi 2, but this has 2GB of RAM. It has a 4.7-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with MIUI 6 on top. Let’s find out how the smartphone performs in a range of synthetic benchmark tests.
