Huawei’s Honor Brand launched the Honor 7X smartphone in India back in December last year starting at Rs. 12,999. Today the company has announced a permanent price cut for the smartphone. The company even introduced a limited Red Edition earlier this year that joined Black, Blue and Gold color variants, and started manufacturing the phone in partnership with Flex at its plant in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. Bharti Airtel today announced that it has appointed Ajay Chitkara as Director and CEO of Airtel Business, and the company has integrated both domestic enterprise and global enterprise operations. Ajay will continue reporting to Gopal Vittal, who is the MD and CEO of Bharti Airtel. The company has also appointed Pankaj Miglani as CEO – Global Business. He will report to Ajay Chitkara. Previously he was Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Bharti Infratel and played a key role in the company’s IPO in 2012.

Meizu has silently launched M6, its latest budget smartphone and the successor of last year’s M5 in India. It packs a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, is powered by a 1.5 GHz Octa-Core 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 processor and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat)-based FlymeOS 6 on top. Garmin has launched Forerunner 645 Music in India. It was introduced as it’s first smartwatch that lets you store music for offline listening earlier this year at the CES. Xiaomi has achieved a new milestone by opening its 1000th authorized service center in India in Hyderabad. This includes 500 service centers for Mi TV. It opened its 500th service center in Bengaluru back in June last year. Xiaomi’s service centers are now in over 600 cities in 4 years since the company entered India. The company said that it has over 6000 workforce contributing to the service network. After Kerala, Mumbai and Tamil Nadu, Airtel has announced massive network expansion in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as part of its network transformation initiative – Project Leap. During the FY 18-19, Airtel plans to roll out 15,000 new mobile sites that translates to one new site being added every hour along with an addition of more than 3000 kilometers of optic fiber.
