Vodafone Idea launches voice-based contactless recharge at retail outlets

Vodafone Idea has introduced yet another initiative to help their customers maintain social distancing protocols when using their retail store services. It is a voice-based contactless recharge option that is enabled in the Vodafone Idea Smart Connect retailer app, using Google voice recognition to input a customer’s phone number.

Apple iPhone SE 2020 will go on sale in India on Flipkart from May 20

Apple introduced the new iPhone SE last month priced starting at Rs. 42500.  Few days back it also announced limited period offer for HDFC Bank cards making the effective price Rs. 38,900 after Rs. 3600 cashback. Today Flipkart has confirmed that it will sell the phone starting from May 20th at 12PM.  Apple supplier Redington already confirmed that the phone will be available in 3500+ retail locations across India so the phone should also be available from Authorized Apple resellers on the same day. OnePlus 8 Series sale date revealed in India

UPDATE: The OnePlus 8 5G will be available on Amazon India in a special sale, starting at 2pm on 18 May 2020.

A few weeks back, OnePlus launched the much-awaited OnePlus 8 series – OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro in the Indian market starting at Rs. 41,999 and Rs. 54,999 respectively. HUAWEI just launched the FreeBuds 3, the company’s latest true wireless earbuds in India, after it was introduced at the IFA last year. It has Kirin A1 chip with dual-mode Bluetooth 5.1 SoC with patented BT-UHD transmission protocol for 6.5Mbps transmission speed. It uses HUAWEI Isochronous Dual Channel transmission technology for low latency and low power consumption and 356 MHz audio processor for stable, fast Bluetooth connection, as well as an accurate audio and video synchronization. The chip can also eliminate the background noise during calls and enhance the voice simultaneously. HUAWEI’s HONOR brand just launched the HONOR 9X Pro smartphone in India, as it had promised. It was introduced in China back in June last year, packs a 6.59-inch FHD+ no-notch LCD screen, is powered by Kirin 810 7nm SoC with GPU Turbo 9.0, 6GB RAM, NINE liquid cooling that can bring down the temperature by up to 5°C, run runs Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMIUI 9.1, but with HUAWEI Mobile Services (HMS), HUAWEI AppGallery app store instead of Google Play Services and Play Store. The company said it has several partnerships to bring range of apps, and is also working to bring Netflix and other streaming apps. India premium smartphone market records growth of 21% YoY in Q1 2020 with Samsung in the lead: Report

The premium smartphone market (>Rs. 30000) has been a competition between Samsung Apple and OnePlus for many quarters now. In the first quarter of 2020, the market saw a growth of 21% YoY, with Samsung managing to edge out Apple to take the lead as India’s current top premium smartphone manufacturer.
