Sony Ericsson have just prematurely announced the XPERIA Arc at CES (Consumer Electronics Show). It is in fact the same model that we previously referred to as the XPERIA X12/Anzu.
ASUS have announced two new tablets at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Expo. One device is called the EeePad MeMO and the other is the EeeSlate EP121.
Recently, a Chinese forum posted some exclusive pics of the PlayStation phone, sporting an Xperia logo on the center of the controller. This handset is rumored to come with an 8 megapixel camera, 1 GHz processor and so on.
We have already seen the leaked pics of the Sony Ericsson’s upcoming PlayStation phone. Earlier, this device was expected to come with the Android 2.2 OS and then it was rumored that the PlayStation phone will be powered by the Android 2.3 OS, but most of the rumors were not true. Man, what an #epic #win year it’s been for Apple! Poor-antenna-PR aside, pretty much everything the folks from Cupertino launched hit gold in 2010, whether it was the refreshed take on the iPods or the iPhone or the all new iPad, which spawned an almost dysenteric flow of Android tablets for the rest of the year! Not to forget the impossibly thin(ner) MacBook Air, which points to the future of how Apple notebooks will be. Think about it – a Jan. 27 iPad announcement, then the April 8 iOS 4 preview followed by the June 7 WWDC launch of the iPhone 4, and then the Sept. 1 iPod updates and finally…closing out the year with the Oct. 20 ‘Back to the Mac’ announcements! Earlier this month, I was off to Japan on invitation from NTT Docomo as a part of the Tata Docomo 3G Life activity. Sounds like fun right ? Excitement is an understatement. I have always been amazed by the Japanese mobile market. Almost all of the products are not available outside the land of the rising sun.I have been very interested in NTT Docomo ever since I saw them at MWC and CommunicAsia. Stuff like Separable Phone and Eye controlled earphones are not something you would expect to see everyday. As you all might know NTT DOCOMO is one of the leading mobile operators in Japan with over 55% market share. The company holds 26% stake in Indian telecom operator Tata Docomo which sparked of the per second billing revolution and became the first private operator to launch 3G services.

Motorola’s new Android budget smartphone is a rare thing – a semi rugged phone that looks like any other normal phone. It is dust proof, water and scratch resistant. Motorola calls it the ‘Lifeproof’ phone. I call it a freaking awesome phone.Check out our little Motorola Defy preview.
When I first heard of the Defy, I expected to be greeted with a smartphone equivalent of a Panasonic Toughbook laptop, but no – the Defy looks like any normal smartphone. It is even smaller than my Nokia N8! . It won’t take any design awards home as far as physical aesthetics is concerned, but it isn’t something you would be embarrassed to own.
