Xiaomi recently scheduled an event on November 24th, to introduce a new product. Lin Bin, co-founder and President of Xiaomi already said that more than one product will launch at the event. He posted a teaser image of the Redmi Note 2 Pro smartphone in Golden color recently, few hours back he posted an image of a tablet on weibo, which is likely to be the upcoming MiPad 2. Xiaomi launched the Mi 4i smartphone in India back in April for Rs. 12,999. It even launched a 32GB version of the Mi 4i in India in July for Rs. 14,999. Even though the 16GB Mi 4i was sold at discounted rates as a part of festive offers, including the Xiaomi Diwali sale earlier this month, the company today announced first permanent price cut for the 16GB version in India, which will be available for Rs. 11,999. Xiaomi conducts China’s marathon 24-hour online sales event on Singles Day that falls on November 11th every year in cooperation with Tmall, the largest online marketplace in China. Last year it made $163 million (RMB 1 billion) by selling 720,000 phones in 24 hours. This year Xiaomi has announced that it made $196 (RMB 1.25 billion) on Tmall in 24 hours. This time it sold its products through several online stores including Alibaba, JD, Tmall, mi.com and Suning and became top seller of phones. After 5200mAh, 10400mAh and 16000mAh power banks, Xiaomi has introduced new 20000mAh Mi power bank in China. It is designed by Texas Instruments and comes with nine layers of circuit protection, similar to other Mi power banks. This has ABS plastic body, compared to aluminium body on other Mi power banks. This offers a better grip and prevents scratches, says Xiaomi. Even though it has more batteries, it weighs just 338 grams, lighter than the 350 gram 16000mAh Mi power bank, mainly due to the change in material. Xiaomi introduced the Mi Band, it’s first fitness and sleep tracking band in July last year, and it was launched in India earlier this year. Now it has introduced the Mi Band Pulse (1S), it’s successor with a heart rate sensor or photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor to measure heartbeats, as expected. This lets users get their detailed heart rate measurement easily without wearing any complicated accessories. The design is still the same with aluminium body and it monitors your fitness and tracks your sleep as well, can vibrate to wake you up and comes with IP67 ratings for water resistance, similar to the first Mi Band. Xiaomi has reported a biggest ever quarter in India since it started its operations in the country in 2014. The Chinese smartphone maker has sold more than 1 million smartphones in India in Q3, 2015 (July, August and September).

Xiaomi set to launch their smartphones in Africa this month

Xiaomi is all set to introduce new Mi Protect insurance service plans that will cover Mi devices in case of accidental and liquid damage, offer free home pickup and drop, and free second servicing within 1 year from activation. These plans will be priced at Rs. 275 for Redmi 2 and Redmi 2 Prime smartphones and it will cost Rs. 499 for Mi 4i, Mi 4  and Mi Pad. This was first spotted by BGR.in.
