A new screenshot has surfaced online which is said to be of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5 smartphone. The screenshot reveals that the device will have a DualSIM slot as well as NFC capability.
The screenshot was posted by Xioami’s Chairman Lei Jun on Weibo. The top portion of the screenshot reveals the fact that it has a DualSIM slot and NFC capability. NFC was available on the Mi 3 but Xiaomi chose to remove it for the Mi 4.
OnePlus made a similar move since the OnePlus One had NFC while the current flagship OnePlus 2 doesn’t. The popularity of NFC and increase in mobile payments should be the reason for Xiaomi bringing it back.
The Snapdragon 820 powered Mi 5 is set for an announcement on February 24th and there will be a media preview at MWC 2016 happening in Barcelona as well.
