MediaTek Helio M70 7nm 5G Modem with up to 5Gbps download speeds announced, coming in 2019

MediaTek during the Computex 2018 last week in Taiwan silently introduced its M70, the latest 5G modem based on TSMC’s 7nm process incorporating EUV technology. The company said that it has collaborated with NOKIA, NTT Docomo, China Mobile, Huawei, and other vendors. It supports 5G NR (New Radio) and will meet the latest 3GPP Release 15 standard specification (complete specification released in June) With 5Gbps transfer rate. MediaTek Helio P22 Octa-Core 12nm SoC with Dual VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, AI-enhancements announced

MediaTek just introduced its first budget SoC based on 12nm TSMC FinFET technology for improved battery efficiency compared to 16nm. It supports 20:9 HD+ screen, has Octa-Core ARM Cortex-A53 CPUs with MediaTek CorePilot, new IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, and flexible LPDDR3/LPDDR4x memory controller.  It supports 13+8MP dual  or 21MP single camera setup,
backed by a hardware depth engine for Depth of Field (Bokeh) effects.

MediaTek Helio P60 Octa-Core 12nm processor with multi-core AI processing unit, Dual 4G VoLTE announced

MediaTek at the MWC 2018 unveiled Helio P60, the company’s latest processor for mid-range smartphones. The company says that it is the first SoC platform with a multi-core AI processing unit (mobile APU) and MediaTek’s NeuroPilot AI technology. It promises  70% CPU performance boost over the Helio P23 and Helio P30, in addition to a 70% GPU performance enhancement. It is based on 12nm TSMC’s FinFET technology. Reliance Jio, MediaTek to partner for Android Oreo Go Edition smartphone

Back in October last year, a report said that Reliance Jio will stop the JioPhone production to focus on Android smartphone, but it resumed the sale of the phone later. Today at an event TL Lee, Head of Mobiles at MediaTek said that the company will partner with Reliance Jio to launch a new Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in India this year under the LYF brand. He also said that the phone will be powered by MT6739 SoC. JioPhone uses Spreadtrum SP9820A and Qualcomm 205 SoCs.

Apple said to be considering MediaTek modems for next-gen iPhones

Back in October, there was a WSJ report that said Apple is planning on ditching Qualcomm for MediaTek modems for next-gen iPhones that will launch in 2018. Qualcomm and MediaTek announce support for Android Oreo (Go edition)

Qualcomm and MediaTek have announced support for the Android Oreo (Go edition) which officially introduced at an event in India earlier this week for low-cost Android devices that have 512MB to 1GB of RAM. Google at the Google For India 2017 event earlier this week said that Smartphones running Android Oreo (Go edition) will be available early 2018. MediaTek at the India Mobile Congress 2017 in Delhi announced the MT6739, the company’s latest SoC targeted at entry-level and mid-range 4G smartphones. This is an upgrade to the MT6735 that was introduced back in 2014 and last year’s MT6737 that are being used in hundred of latest smartphones. MediaTek Helio P23 and Helio P30 Octa-Core 16nm SoCs with Dual VoLTE, Mali G71 GPU announced

MediaTek has introduced Helio P23 and Helio P30, two new chips in the ‘P Series’. Both these are Octa-Core SoCs that combines powerful and efficient ARM Cortex A53 cores, replace  and uses TSMC 16nm FinFET production process. These deliver performance and power efficiency, dual camera photography, dual SIM and dual 4G VoLTE capabilities for mid-range smartphones, says the company.

MediaTek Helio P25 Octa-Core 16nm processor for ultra-thin smartphones with dual cameras announced

MediaTek just announced Helio P25, its latest SoC in the Helio P series. It was unveiled in China back in September last year, is based on 16nm TSMC process technology and has MediaTek Imagiq Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology same has P20, but this has up to 13MP dual camera support optimized for Color + Mono de-noise as well as real-time shallow DoF bokeh and Video HDR with full preview.
