MediaTek at the India Mobile Congress 2017 in Delhi announced the MT6739, the company’s latest SoC targeted at entry-level and mid-range 4G smartphones. This is an upgrade to the MT6735 that was introduced back in 2014 and last year’s MT6737 that are being used in hundred of latest smartphones. MediaTek has introduced Helio P23 and Helio P30, two new chips in the ‘P Series’. Both these are Octa-Core SoCs that combines powerful and efficient ARM Cortex A53 cores, replace and uses TSMC 16nm FinFET production process. These deliver performance and power efficiency, dual camera photography, dual SIM and dual 4G VoLTE capabilities for mid-range smartphones, says the company.

MediaTek officially introduced its flagship Helio X30 Deca-Core processor at an event in China and detailed its specifications back in September last year. Today it has revealed even more specifications of the SoC at the MWC 2017. It has 50% power savings and a 35% increase in performance from MediaTek’s previous generation chipset. MediaTek just announced Helio P25, its latest SoC in the Helio P series. It was unveiled in China back in September last year, is based on 16nm TSMC process technology and has MediaTek Imagiq Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology same has P20, but this has up to 13MP dual camera support optimized for Color + Mono de-noise as well as real-time shallow DoF bokeh and Video HDR with full preview. MediaTek India has announced availability of MT2511 and MT2523, its latest System on Chips (SoCs) targeted at health, fitness and wearables devices. The MT2511 is the company’s first bio-sensing analog front-end (AFE) chip designed for health and fitness devices, and the MT2523 is designed for active and fitness smartwatches and offers GPS, dual-mode Bluetooth Low Energy, and a MIPI-supported high-resolution mobile screen. MediaTek today officially introduced its flagship Helio X30 Deca-Core processor at an event in China and detailed its specifications. It is based on 10nm TSMC process and replaces two ARM Cortex A72 cores in the X20 with ARM Cortex A73 cores clocked at 2.8GHz. Clock speeds of ARM Cortex-A53 cores have also been increased and it has four Cortex-A35 CPUs as well replacing the Cortex-A35 cores. X30 promises 53% improved power savings and 43% better performance than the Helio X20. It supports LPDDR4 RAM up to 8GB and up to 28-megapixel dual ISPs. Meizu introduced its flagship MX6 smartphone last month. We brought you the unboxing of the phone recently, here we have the benchmarks. The MX6 is powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor that has two clusters of four ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.39GHz per core and two bigger ARM Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 1.85GHz per core with Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. MediaTek just introduced Pump Express 3.0, its fastest battery charging technology yet. This promises to charge smartphone battery from 0 to 70% in just 20 minutes and 5 minutes of charge promises four hours talk time. “That’s almost twice as fast as competing solutions currently on the market and five times faster than conventional charging,” said the company.
