MediaTek at the MWC 2018 unveiled Helio P60, the company’s latest processor for mid-range smartphones. The company says that it is the first SoC platform with a multi-core AI processing unit (mobile APU) and MediaTek’s NeuroPilot AI technology. It promises 70% CPU performance boost over the Helio P23 and Helio P30, in addition to a 70% GPU performance enhancement. It is based on 12nm TSMC’s FinFET technology. Back in October last year, a report said that Reliance Jio will stop the JioPhone production to focus on Android smartphone, but it resumed the sale of the phone later. Today at an event TL Lee, Head of Mobiles at MediaTek said that the company will partner with Reliance Jio to launch a new Android Oreo (Go Edition) smartphone in India this year under the LYF brand. He also said that the phone will be powered by MT6739 SoC. JioPhone uses Spreadtrum SP9820A and Qualcomm 205 SoCs.

Qualcomm and MediaTek have announced support for the Android Oreo (Go edition) which officially introduced at an event in India earlier this week for low-cost Android devices that have 512MB to 1GB of RAM. MediaTek has introduced Helio P23 and Helio P30, two new chips in the ‘P Series’. Both these are Octa-Core SoCs that combines powerful and efficient ARM Cortex A53 cores, replace and uses TSMC 16nm FinFET production process. These deliver performance and power efficiency, dual camera photography, dual SIM and dual 4G VoLTE capabilities for mid-range smartphones, says the company.

MediaTek officially introduced its flagship Helio X30 Deca-Core processor at an event in China and detailed its specifications back in September last year. Today it has revealed even more specifications of the SoC at the MWC 2017. It has 50% power savings and a 35% increase in performance from MediaTek’s previous generation chipset. MediaTek just announced Helio P25, its latest SoC in the Helio P series. It was unveiled in China back in September last year, is based on 16nm TSMC process technology and has MediaTek Imagiq Image Signal Processor (ISP) technology same has P20, but this has up to 13MP dual camera support optimized for Color + Mono de-noise as well as real-time shallow DoF bokeh and Video HDR with full preview.
