HTC Windows Phone 8S review

Microsoft and HTC have been closely related ever since the days of the first Windows Mobile devices so it was no surprise when HTC was amongst the first ones to launch Windows Phone 8 devices.

We reviewed the HTC 8X at launch and found it quite deserving to be amongst the first WP8 phones. The HTC 8S caters to a different and perhaps more budget minded audience. Does it deliver an experience as good as its higher priced contemporary ? Read on to find out.

HTC Droid DNA hands on

The HTC Droid DNA is one of the world’s first phones, and the first phone in the US to come with a full HD 1080p screen. The Droid DNA is exclusive to Verizon Wireless and since the display is so special, we decided to take a look at it, at the International CES 2013. HTC Desire U with 4-inch display, 1 GHz processor, Android 4.0 announced

HTC has announced Desire U, the company’s new budget Android smartphone in Taiwan. It has a 4.0-inch (800 x 480 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with HTC Sense UI similar to the Desire V was launched in India last year, but this has single SIM support. It has a 5MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash and comes with Beats audio support. HTC Butterfly Benchmarks


HTC launched the Butterfly on Japan’s KDDI network back in October 2012, released as Droid DNA in the U.S. and it was announced for global markets in December. We posted hands-on photos of the Butterfly last week, now we have benchmarks of the device. The performance is top-notch when compared to the other quad-core Android devices. The HTC Butterfly is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm APQ8064 processor and the Adreno 320 GPU, similar to the Optimus G and the Google Nexus 4. It out performs all the current quad-core smartphones in most of the benchmarks.

HTC M7 with Sense 5.0 new images surface

New images of the HTC M7 has surfaced online. Unlike the previous render that surfaced last week, this is the image of the real hardware. These images might not be the final one since there is no FCC ID. There are also new renders of the phone that are created based on the phone’s design. HTC India teases Butterfly launch on Facebook

HTC India has started teasing the upcoming launch of their flagship Butterfly Android smartphone launch on Facebook. The company posted images of the phone with a caption Guess what’s flying into town soon?. The Android smartphone was originally launched on Japan’s KDDI network back in October, released as Droid DNA in the U.S. and it was announced for global markets in December. HTC M7 image surfaces, might be revealed at MWC

HTC is long expected to reveal its next generation flagship at MWC in February and now thanks to UnwiredView, we have our first glimpse of the handset. Obtained from a firmware image, we can see that the handset maybe equipped with an edge to edge display. The image has been extracted from a video explaining how to install the SIM card to first time owners.

HTC HD2 now runs Windows RT, cue slow claps for the undying spirit

This counts as the most wonderfully bizarre news of the day. HTC HD2, the long lost Windows mobile flagship device from HTC was initially denied the spanking new Windows Phone 7 operating system because of unknown reasons. But that didn’t stop a legion of hackers from XDA to port each and every available OS onto the HD2. The HD2 got everything from Android 2.2 to Windows Phone 8, so one guy @cotullacode(responsible for other ports) thought “why don’t we port Windows RT onto this?” and then Windows RT happened on the HD2. HTC One S JellyBean update roll out starts

HTC has started the roll out of the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update in some markets including UK. We had access to a UK unit and a massive 600 MB update showed up via OTA today. The update bears the version number 3.16.401.8 and measures 612.27 MB.We decided to give it a go and it was the much awaited jelly bean update. HTC had promised that it will release Android 4.1 JellyBean for the One S and One X this year and looks like the Taiwanese phone maker is keeping its word ! HTC M7, 4.7 inch 1080p successor to the One X leaked, runs sense 5

According to a new leak from the industry’s leading leakster – Evleaks, HTC is preparing to launch its much awaited successor to the HTC One X and it is supposedly featuring a 4.7 inch full HD 1080p screen like the HTC J Butterfly phone that it launched a while back.  And not only that, the HTC M7 will reportedly feature the updated Sense 5 UX.

HTC Windows Phone 8S finally hitting stores in India at Rs. 19,359

The long awaited entry level Windows Phone 8 handset, the HTC 8S, is now available in India at a price point of Rs. 19,359. Online retailer Saholic has now listed the handset as available. The HTC 8S follows the 8X which has been quite a popular handset partly due to the lack of competition in the WP8 segment.
