Samsung SM-G9198 surfaces online – Flip phone powered by Snapdragon 808

Ever since touchscreens came along, innovative form factors have died down and most handsets have a candybar form factor. Samsung however is trying its best to keep the clamshell (flip) form factor alive as was seen with the Samsung Galaxy Golden phones. Now we have yet another new smartphone from Samsung with the model number SM-G9198 that not just revives the diminishing form factor but also packs in high end specifications.

Vivo announces new V1 and V1 Max smartphones in India

Chinese manufacturer Vivo has introduced a new ‘V’ series of smartphones in India. The company announced two smartphones – Vivo V1 and Vivo V1 Max – on Tuesday saying that these will be priced between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, and will hit stores later this month. Indian variants of Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge now receiving update to Android Lollipop 5.1.1

On June 15th, the first updates to Android Lollipop 5.1.1 rolled out to the T-Mobile variants of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge. Over the past few weeks, the update has made its way to various regions and variants of the device. Now, it’s the turn of the Indian variants of the two devices to receive the update.

It packs a a 5MP auto focus camera with LED Flash and a 2 MP front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support and has 3G connectivity. Huawei Y336, Y541, Y625 and G620S launched in India, priced between Rs. 5499 and Rs. 9499

Huawei has launched four new smartphones, three in the Y series – Y336, Y541, Y625 and G620S in the G series. The devices will be marketed through the company’s offline distributors across 1000 stores in the initial phase, said the company. The Huawei G620S also has 4G support. All these smartphones run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) with Emotion UI on top and have dual SIM support.

HTC Aero to have 2.5D Gorilla Glass 4 display with QHD resolution

If you remember well, a report that came out last month stated that HTC’s One M9 shipments were 43% lower than their One M8 shipments during the same timeframe last year. Truecaller launches Truemessenger SMS app with automatic spam filtering for Android

It lets you replace your standard SMS app so that you can identify the sender of the SMS and detect, block or report spam, fraud, telemarketing, sales, and unknown phone numbers. It also offers automated spam filter that is powered by 150 million Truecaller community members worldwide. It is available exclusively in India, and the company plans to launch it globally in the near future.
