YU has officially launched YUNIQUE, the company’s latest budget smartphone, after the registration page went live early. It has a 4.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display at 312 ppi, is powered by a Quad-Core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor and runs on stock Android 5.1 (Lollipop). It doesn’t run on Cyanogen OS out of the box like other YU smartphones, but you can upgrade to Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) by heading to YU service centres for free, flashable ROM will be available in future. It features a 8-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. YU is all set to launch its new affordable YU branded smartphone at an event later today. Now the registration page of the smartphone has gone live on Snapdeal before the launch. This confirms the name of the smartphone as YUNIQUE and its specifications. It will have a 4.7-inch HD screen, slightly smaller than YUPHORIA’s 5-inch screen, will come with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, instead of 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage on the YUPHORIA.
