Motorola Mobility has announced their financial Results for the fourth quarter of 2011. They have declared a net loss of $80 million on revenue of $3.4 billion last quarter. They managed to ship 10.5 million mobile devices, including 5.3 million smartphones and 200 thousand tablets in Q4 2011. Intel showed off its smartphone reference design at CES 2012 and said that it will announce a smartphone partner soon and now the news has arrived. Intel has entered into a multi-year partnership with handset maker Motorola Mobility which will use Intel’s Atom’s chips in it’s Android smartphones.The phones will be shipping later this year.Motorola will continue to use Qualcomm and TI chips in its phones.The partnership includes tablets as well so we might see Motorola tablets powered by Intel silicon in the future. Motorola has announced Motorola DEFY MINI dustproof and water-resistant phone powered by Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). It has 3.2-inch touchscreen Corning GorillaGlass display, 600MHz processor, 3MP rear-facing camera with flash, VGA front-facing camera for video chat. Word is that the DROID 4 from Motorola will come to Verizon by 22nd December (as it has now mustered the FCC); optimistically, Santa knows what I want. As confirmation that Verizon is preparing to unleash the Motorola Droid 4, this screenshot is from the DridDoes.com web page with a link to the Droid 4, on the Droid 3 web page. We may even see this slide-out QWERTY 4G LTE baby foregoing the Galaxy Nexus, and this wouldn’t astonish me at all. Ultimately, this would be an element of the Droid 4 web page.
