First Intel powered phone , Lava XOLO X900 launched at Rs 22,000

Lava Mobiles today launched the world’s first Intel powered handset. Called the XOLO X900 , the specifications include a 1.6Ghz Atom Z2460  processor capable of Hyper Threading. The graphics chip is clocked at 400Mhz enabling playback of Full HD content and HD quality games.

Airtel 4G Tariffs 6GB for Rs.999 , 16GB for Rs.1999

As the Airtel 4G website went live few hours ago , the tariffs have also appeared on the site. The plans start from Rs.999 for 6GB of data and the top-end plan is Rs.1999 for 18GB of data. There is also a plan for Rs.1399 which gives you 9GB of free usage.  Initially , these plans will be available only over USB modems and will be available on both Prepaid and Postpaid. After you cross the free data quota , your speed will be throttled to 128 Kbps as per Fair Usage Policy.

HTC One X Unboxing Pics and Video

The HTC One X is now available in India at an MRP of Rs.42999 ouch and you can grab one at a store for much lesser at around Rs.37000 according to few shops who are stocking the handset. The HTC One X is the first Quad Core phone to launch in India and it is also the first phone to launch in India running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (Samsung Galaxy Nexus is still not officially launched). The retail package is not similar to the ones we saw in France but slightly different. Take a look at the unboxing video below.

Complete Apple iPad 2 Line-Up gets a Price Cut in India

Apple has cut the price of all models of the iPad 2 in India after it announced the new version of the iPad earlier this week in the US.The entry level iPad 2 WiFi model gets the biggest cut of Rs.5000 whereas other models see cuts between Rs.2000 and Rs.4000. We already told you about the price of the 16GB WiFi only iPad 2 dropping to Rs.24500 , now we have confirmation from Apple that the entire iPad 2 line up will see a discount.

Apple iPad 2 Price Drops to Rs.24500 in India

Apple announced the next-gen iPad last night at an event in San Francisco and also reduced the price of the iPad 2 16GB version to $399 in the US. Today morning we heard from Apple India that the price cut is effective in India as well. The 16GB WiFi only version of the iPad 2 is now available for Rs.24500. The 16GB WiFi+3G version now retails for Rs.32900.Apple has not yet declared the Indian pricing for the third generation iPad which packs a Retina display. It will reveal the Indian pricing closer to the launch. Don’t head out to the stores now and expect the new pricing for the new iPad 2 to be effective immediately as it might take a few days for the news to be communicated to the retail network. Couple of Apple Stores we spoke to were selling the iPad 2 at the same old price as of today morning.

Flipkart is the leading online retailer in India and has taken the India e-commerce market by storm. LetsBuy has been giving a tough fight to Flipkart especially in Mobile Phones and Tablets with competitive pricing and coupons. I have shopped on both Flipkart and LetsBuy and have noticed some products which are not available on Flipkart are available on LetsBuy as the latter seems to have a larger inventory. Nokia moves device assembly to factories in Asia to improve time to market


Handset maker Nokia is moving its device assembly to it’s factories in Asia in a strategic move to improve time to market for it’s products. The 3 factories Komarom, Hungary, Reynosa, Mexico and Salo, Finland will no longer assemble devices but will only offer smartphone product customization aimed at customers in Europe and the Americas.Such a move is not surprising as a major portion of all electronic goods are manufactured in Asia due to lower costs and close proximity to component suppliers. Amazon setting up fulfillment center at Mumbai in India

Reuters is reporting that the world’s largest e-commerce site Amazon.com is in the process of setting up it’s first fulfillment center at Mumbai in India. Reuters is stating this based on certain job openings on Amazon India’s career portal. Amazon already has a presence in India in Chennai , Bangalore and Hyderabad but these centers only handle R&D and customer service.

TRAI asks operators to publish tariff plans regularly


The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has announced that all Telecom service providers should publish their Tariff Plan details regularly to let the customers know about the changes. They should also publish the tariff details in at least one Newspaper of regional language and one English newspaper at an interval not more than 6 months. ACE in white looks quite stunning. Now its preloaded with Android 2.3.5 which provides performance boost to the ACE. It is quite smooth and snappy out of the box compared to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Other that the software it is similar to the black version of the Galaxy Ace The current MOP of ACE White edition is Rs. 14500/- in Mumbai, India.
