Apple launches iTunes Music & Video Store in India

Apple has finally introduced its Music and Video store in India giving users here another avenue to get hold of content legally. Pricing is quite competent with individual tracks being priced between Rs 12-15 per track and most albums ranging from Rs. 110 to Rs. 300 depending on how old the album is and its popularity.

Movie pricing varies between Rs. 290 to Rs. 500 for SD or HD movies. You also have an option to rent them at Rs. 80 for Bollywood content while International movies will be charged at Rs. 120. Users can purchase and download music videos for priced between Rs. 15 and Rs 20 depending on content.

The Bollywood content is looking quite solid though if you’re looking for a good international collection especially movies, you might be disappointed. The iTunes Match service which lets you match your music collection to the cloud has also been launched here at Rs. 1200.

 

 

Windows Phone 8 Review

Back in 2010 when Microsoft introduced its brand new take on the smartphone dubbed Windows Phone, it was a brand new take on how a smartphone should work. Gone was the desktop-inspired UI and the inherent sluggishness, dependence on stylus input. The new and improved OS was designed ground up for a more modern world but inside was ticking the same core which brought along with it several limitations. Today we have yet another reboot but this time with a brand new core while retaining the best of and improving on the rest of the experience.

Apple iPhone 5 launched in India

At events across the country, the long awaited iPhone 5 has been launched in India. Featuring a larger 4″ screen and a much more powerful A6 processor, the iPhone 5 is a major step up from the iPhone 4S. The phone is now incredibly slim with a thickness of just 7.6mm. The svelte smartphone is also remarkably light weighing just 112gms.

Apple iPhone 5 Prices for India surface, starts at Rs.45500

Looks like Apple is gearing up to launch the iPhone 5 in India soon. Multiple retailers have started to announce the prices for the latest iPhone.The iPhone 5 might start retailing at Rs.45,500 for the 16GB model. Both White and Black versions of the phone are expected to go on sale. But still stocks are extremely limited considering the global demand for the device. Apple had reportedly appointed Ingram Micro and Redington as distributors for the iPhone 5. This was partially confirmed today as we got a press release from Ingram Micro about the same indicating a November 2nd release and now there is a link to a webpage containing the Redington logo which has popped up.

Apple iPhone 5 to launch in India on 2nd November

Apple’s latest and greatest iPhone will be available in India starting 2nd November. Instead of relying on carrier support, the company has appointed Ingram Micro and Redington as distribution partners. The pricing is believed to be Rs. 45,500 for the 16GB model while the 32GB and 64GB models will be priced at Rs. 52,500 and Rs. 59,500 but we’re still waiting on official word to confirm this.

Samsung Galaxy SIII in Garnet Red now available in stores in India.

At IFA2012 Samsung Mobile announced four more colours for Samsung Galaxy SIII, mainly Garnet Red, Sapphire Black, Amber Brown and Titanium Gray. Samsung Mobile India has launched Garnet Red version of Galaxy SIII (16GB) in India on Samsung e-store. It is now also available in Samsung premium and flagship stores as well local stores in India. The MRP of Garnet Red SIII is same as other 16GB variants which is Rs.42,500 and it’s retail price is around Rs. 37,500. Similar to blue and white, this variant has its packaging in Red. Motorola shutting down India operations as part of restructuring plans

Motorola Mobility CEO, Dennis Woodside, recently confirmed that the company would be laying off 20% of the workforce while downscaling India operations. As part of these restructuring efforts, Motorola is now shutting down all operations in India. Further, operations across Asia Pacific are being massively undercut.

Nokia Belle Refresh update now rolling out, already available for Nokia N8 in India

After a long time, finally all Nokia N8, E7, C7, C6-01, X7 and Nokia Oro customers are going to rejoice. Nokia support has just posted on their Nokia Discussions support forums that they have just started rolling out the update for Symbian called Nokia Belle Refresh for the Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia C7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia X7 and Nokia Oro with version number 111.040.1511. Nokia E6 will have FW version number 111.140.0058. It is already available for the Nokia N8 in India. Zync Z-909 plus launched at Rs. 3,699

Zync recently announced its low cost tablet, the Z-909 plus. Coming in at just around Rs. 3700, it is one of the cheapest tablets in the market right now. The 7″ tablet is powered by a 1Ghz processor coupled with 256MB of RAM. Unfortunately the WVGA touchscreen is resistive in nature. WiFi connectivity is present and a 0.3 MP camera can be found up front.
