LG Electronics has announced that they have sold more than 10 million LTE smartphones globally. LG announced the Optimus LTE, their first LTE smartphone in Korea back in October 2011, and shipped over 600,000 units in Korea alone in just 100 days after the launch. The global shipments of Optimus LTE crossed the 1 million mark last January. LG LTE smartphone sales crossed the 3 million mark last May and crossed 5 million mark in August. LG Mobile is being quite aggressive this year when it comes to launching attractive Android smartphones running on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. LG Mobile has announced three international models running on ICS apart from a few Gingerbread running devices at MWC 2012. LG has unveiled its new Optimus UI 3.0 for its upcoming Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) devices. It would bring new and enhanced key features, including Quick Memo that enables users to jot notes on the screen using a finger that also lets users share it with social networks or via text messages and e-mails. LG has announced the Optimus 4X HD, successor of the LG Optimus 2x, the that was launched last year. It has 4.7-inch True HD IPS display and is powered by 1.5GHz Quad-core Tegra 3 processor. This new 3D smartphone comes with 4.3 inches wide viewing angle (IPS) LCD display. It is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 2.3 version Gingerbread. It has Dual 5MP auto focus cameras with LED flash and secondary VGA camera. It comes with unique features such as My Suit that lets you edit icons with custom image, 3D editing tool and has NFC that also comes wit hLG Tag Plus (Tag +). LG has announced the LG Optimus LTE Tag, new Android phone with NFC Support. This comes with 4.3-inch IPS display and is powered by 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and has 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash and 1.3MP front facing camera. The LG NFC tag+ provided with the phone changes the phone into car mode automatically when it’s near that tag. This enables you to turn on the navigation system in the phone and could be programmed to turn on Bluetooth, GPS and raise the volume. It also comes with LTE support. LG has announced another phone in the Optimus series, LG Optimus Hub, followed by Optimus Pro and Optimus Net. This phone is previously leaked in the LG road map this July.
