UN Telecom agency reports 6 Billion cell phone subscribers around the world

Just a few months back we hit the mark of 7 billion people on earth. And now, believe it or not around 6 billion cell phone subscribers. This clearly shows how technology has grown over the years. This actually means that 86 people out of 100 have a cell phone subscription.

There are no doubts on which country has the most subscribers, China leads the chart with around 1 billion users and India comes a close second and is expected to cross the 1 billion mark sometime this year. The International Telecommunication Union also reported that in 2011 there were 2.3 billion people using the Internet. 70% of these users lived in Industrialized wealthier countries and 24% lived in the poor countries.
