Recently we were invited for a HUAWEI Blogger’s Meet in Mumbai and were shown 3 recently launched HUAWEI Android devices. Here are the hands-on photos of IDEOS X3.
HUAWEI IDEOS X3 is another entry level 3G Android Gingerbread device launched in India for Rs. 9990/- (MOP). It has 3.2” TFT LCD HVGA display and powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 SOC (System on Chip) running at 600MHz. IDEOS X3 has a 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. This device is actually unique as even it is a entry level Android smartphone, X3 has a premium design with curved body and nice soft touch matt plastic covering all back side of the device. Overall the device feels quite solid in hand. The X3 has VGA FFC (Front Facing Camera) for Internet Video Calls. The display is quite bright and due to its size (3.2”) and HVGA resolution it was quite sharp for our eyes. The X3 has 3.2MP Fixed Focus main camera without LED Flash. Intel showed off its smartphone reference design at CES 2012 and said that it will announce a smartphone partner soon and now the news has arrived. Intel has entered into a multi-year partnership with handset maker Motorola Mobility which will use Intel’s Atom’s chips in it’s Android smartphones.The phones will be shipping later this year.Motorola will continue to use Qualcomm and TI chips in its phones.The partnership includes tablets as well so we might see Motorola tablets powered by Intel silicon in the future. So I was going through all the posts related to the surprise which nVIDIA dropped yesterday that the ASUS eee pad Transformer Prime will be receiving Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update on the same day in the U.S, and saw a comment from ASUS Singapore’s official Facebook page saying that the Transformer TF101 will receive the latest Android 4.0 update tomorrow.

An AT&T branded Galaxy Note was already caught at FCC a few days back and this new leaked images are proof that Galaxy Note will be coming to AT&T around next month. Android 4.0 was launched and announced in October and the first device to feature it was Google’s own Galaxy Nexus, and in December Nexus S got an upgrade to Android 4.0. Besides these two devices there are some other devices from other manufacturers running Ice Cream Sandwich unofficially through custom ROMs, through Google’s monthly report we have come to know that 0.6% of all the devices are running Android 4.0 which actually means that around 13 million to 15 million devices are running Andriod 4.0.

Nexus S received the Android 4.0 update a few weeks back though not all the features of ICS were available in the Nexus S update and one of the feature was Face unlock and the the main reason behind that was the VGA front camera. Many of the Nexus S users were really upset about the decision taken by Google, but the developer community is always there to look out for all the consumers and now this time they have taken the official update and have embedded face unlock into it.
